Tethrd One Sticks Gen 2

https://youtu.be/tUt7ishZpeY

I just got 2 packs of these sticks in today. I’m still concerned about the step wobble/glue issue. Let me know what you all think.

I got my order delivered today also and I’m experiencing the same thing but I never heard a pop. One bottom standoff has a little subtle wobble/play. It still feels solid once it has weight on it, but there is definitely a little bit of movement. All the others feel fine.

tree ninjas are like 1 pound and a few ounces and they had no issues....i don't know if they are being made still

The timberninjas are on top of my list of least favorite climbing sticks. Heavier than I had anticipated, lots of flex in the plastic steps and the least amount of foot room from the tree of all sticks I tried.

I hunted last season with the Gen 1’s with no issue. Even one stick climbing and then with an added cam cleat for one stick climbing. Can only guess these will be better. Disclaimer-I’m only 175 lbs
I want to see a pic of the cam cleat on a one stick.

The Tethrd One sticks are right there for short standoffs, and Hawk sticks.

I just called Tethrd customer service about my issue with the stick. Explained my situation, and he said they are sending me a replacement stick. I’m very impressed with how they handled it. For what it’s worth, the guy did say that the wiggle wasn’t a safety concern.

sorry this happened, good luck

on another thread, someone told me they can't use bolts with this design because it would crush the tube

couldn't they use a solid bolt with a locking nut and then NOT tighten it down until it crushes the thing? i certainly wouldn't gorilla tighten it.....

if it wobbled on a high strength bolt, i wouldn't be as worried....but something about that hollow roll pin and a wobble.....
You'd think there is a formula to determine the correct amount of torque that they could set on a digital torque wrench and crank a lock nut with some permanent locktite on it so the user couldn't change/tighten it....

Surely, since they have been using space age chemical bonding and stuff, a toque wrench should be easy enough to operate.....

The Gen 2s now have an Allen keyed bolt (rather than pin) in the lower step (that also supports the dyneema rope containment tab).

Received my 3-pack yesterday. Stealth Stripped them, built 3 Single Step Amsteel Aiders (1/4”) and mounted them. Have climbed all 3. Love them! Never had the Gen1s. A tiny bit of flex is there. I don’t, however, have any wobble…….not yet, anyway! I’m personally very happy!

Have any pics of your aiders?

I'm still confused so to fix the glued-on parts causing a loose/wiggly step issue that apparently isn't a safety issue but regardless I would not tolerate it at this price point, they:

1) Did nothing
2) Did something but it's still not abated, or
3) Legit fixed it, but some of the above posters with wiggly steps got a "bad apple"

Hard to get a straight answer on such a polarizing company, can some straight shooter just give me the truth quickly before the thread gets closed. Tethrd fooled me once with consumer beta testing, thinking about hopping into the gamma stage but not if additional fastening was not added.

Ok--does the allen bolt go into a threaded channel? rivet nut? etc? either way, I"m sure specs could be developed to make sure the tolerances are tighter...though that would increase the product cost and tooling, and decrease profit margin.
