@DanO brought a bunch of saddles to the North Central PA Saddle Meetup and I tried the Phantom, Cruzer and Flex and the Flex opened my eyes. It was way more comfortable to sit in than I thought it would be. The other two not so much.

Did the flex that you sat in have a black stretchy material in the pleat area where it expands, or was it the same material as the rest of the saddle?... I’m trying to figure out if DanO brought the older version of the upgraded version of the flex.

I’ve got a Cruzr Xc that I love but I’m interested in trying the flex. There’s one that I can get, but it hasn’t been upgraded to the new material and the inside of the saddle still has the rubbery material in the inside

pass on that one. If you want to try a flex order a new one. The pleat on the rubber coated one stayed open and didn’t close. You will hate it. Especially since you have an XC.... you will probably hate it anyway...lol

Thank you for saving me some cash. I can’t imagine liking it as much as my XC, but that dude had me intrigued by saying he thought the flex was most comfy.

I really like my phantom. There are a lot of great options out there. If you can’t get comfortable with today’s available options I would recommend skipping saddles and conventional stands and going straight to office chairs in box blinds.

Just looking for input. Last year I hunted out of a kestrel flex and while it was ok, it left a little to be desired in my opinion. The phantom seems very similar to it with the adjustable bridge and such, but it looks lighter. What’s everyone’s opinions on them?

Thats the older version. They changed it because the inner liner was rubbing off on people and that pleat wouldn’t stay closed, so now the newer ones have the flex/pleat portion made of the same material, I believe

You might have sat in someone else's, I brought a brand new one and it had the webbing bridge if that helps.

I think it had a webbing bridge and it was all aerohunter green on the inside.

For the guys asking...I didn’t really dislike my flex. I just felt it was kind of heavy and I did get hot in it sometimes. Overall it was a good saddle. I shot three deer out of it last year. Just knew that there would be new ones coming out and could sell the flex for what I bought it for so I dumped it

I expect my TX5 to be excellent when it comes because of the size, shape, elastic pleat, and material used.

I ordered an expand pleated saddle. The pleat is a military grade elastic I think. I do not have it yet. The mail is sloooow. Hopefully they don’t lose it

I have a flex and the phantom in my opinion the flex is 10 times more comfortable and better made

The quality of the flex is better and the comfort but not 10 times better
