The corn is coming down

Interesting. Ha I guess I didn't even now there were other drying bin set ups besides natural gas. Just did a quick read about the different set ups. I guess it makes sense with all the different climates. Learn something new everyday.

Farmers are going to start chopping next week around here. The dry hot summer pushed the corn along after the wet spring and late plant.

I can remember as a kid hearing the dryers running in the corn bins,I thought they were electric.

Here in Michigan we had such a wet spring/early summer that there's a large number of fields that got planted late and will probably be up into late November, when they usually come down in October. You can drive past and tell if the farmer got the crop in on time (full height with tassels on top) or late (only half height now) and try to guess how that'll screw with your usual acorn vs corn spots.
Heck I’m in michigan and the 150 acre field across the road from my house is 4 ft tall weeds. I’ll never see a deer with that much bedding that I don’t have permission on.

If any of these coastal storms track north....these boys will be harvesting 24/7.

Well here in Florida the peanuts are getting picked now (or at least until hurricane Dorian gets here)! Love the smell of peanut dryers running nearing fall. Hope the corn does you northerners well this year!

The corn here ranges from almost completely brown to almost completely green. Haven’t seen any cut yet. Beans are the same way. I got some bean fields that were planted late so they’ll be green during bow season
