The New, New Gear. 2025 Edition

Is latitude making new sticks for this year? I thought I heard something but not sure

Haven’t heard any news. Safe to assume a new cell cam

Lost all faith in them after the 3.0. My Reveal x's and 2.0s were absolutely flawless. Never had a single problem. The 3s are junk. Eat batteries and miss tons of pictures. They also changed the aspect ratio to be shorter and wider. The tallness of the originals is what made them amazing so that you can hang the cam 6+ feet in the tree and not miss anything.

I grabbed a 3.0 and a pro 3.0 when they first came out last year. They definitely eat batteries but I wouldn’t know if they were missing pictures or not

I had a X in the same tree for 3 seasons. Every single season no matter what from Mid September to Christmas, Id get 3000 pics +.

I put a Reveal 3.0 in that tree last season, and in the same span of time I got 900 pics. It just felt off. I started walking in front of it and sometimes it got me. Sometimes it didn't. Where as my 2.0 never missed. The cams were at the same angle.

Tactacam claims the 3.0 would get way less false triggers than the 2.0 and I believe them. It's because it misses them period. Stevie Wonder would see more game than these Pachinko cams.

I think a better comparison is the .75 (which is 1” longer and .5” narrower…but runs the cables to the outside so nearly equal usable width). That one’s 7.5lbs bare.

Cast is historically more damp sounding and usually has nice smooth edges.

I’m interested to hear what other aspects he prefers as well. I‘ve always said a wider V on the .5 would be nice. So I like that about the new cast stands.

But a 10.5lb stand isn’t mobile enough for me to think twice about.
Not sure how this stand is different than my alpha II from 10 years ago. Def does not compare to a .5
