The No-Shame Thread

I get more excited shooting a doe than a buck.

My fiancé has got me watching Dancing with the Stars. I admit I kinda like it.

I find myself watching more deer than shooting. My fiancé calls me a deer watcher instead of a deer killer. I've had 10+ deer in bow range so far this year but only killed 1 doe.

I have an obsession with flash lights.

I spend more time on this forum and watching hunting videos at work than actually working.

I get a thrill out of hunting in regular clothes than camo.

I spend too much money on hunting gear, but am 63, figure I got maybe 20 left, and I can afford it.
I prefer Natty Lite, and not because it's cheap.
I love my hunting club only second to my family.
I enjoy the social aspects of deer camp as much or more than hunting.
I wouldn't live anywhere but the deep south.

Sold all my Sitka gear and hunt in only solids and flannels

The only thing that interests me in all of the hunting industry is the LW Dacquisto podcast

If my .5 comes in today and it’s everything I want it to be I’ll be selling my Phantom and Predator.. saddle hunting just isn’t the hype I think it is or what it’s made out to be - victim of hunting industry marketing, AGAIN

I have gotten upset with my wife for not wanting me to hunt as much as I would like (see my last confession for how vain this is)

But then I’ll scout for 3 days just to find sign I don’t want to admit is hot enough to make a sit out of it

I eat all of my wife’s and son’s leftover food like it’s a SEAL team 6 assaulter mission, Dad tax

My newly pregnant wife asked me to get a pedicure with her the other day and I left that place feeling like a new man

I’ve never killed a deer, only eaten from friends who have

I'd really really like to go to saddlepalooza but I'm intimidated. I'm not sure why.

I bought the Recon twice based on Nutterbuster's videos and sold them twice. I've told my hunting buddies "something came up" just so I don't have to wake up in the morning (I hate early morning hunts). I try to be tagged out by October just because I hate the cold, I then hunt the nicer days with a doe tag for the rest of the season. I only pheasant hunt to scout for whitetail beds. I hunt more from the ground than I do my saddle or stands (this year has been an exception.)

I am surprised at the number of people who hate morning hunts. I would hunt mornings over evenings any day. I love shooting deer in the mornings; you have all day to track, recover, butcher, etc. I hate shooting deer at last light; tracking, recovery, and gutting in the dark with a headlamp SUUUUUCKS...

I am a very sweaty person, so I would rather walk in the dark and climb when it is colder, than have to do it during the hottest part of the day after the sun just beat down on everything for hours. (And this is in a "cold weather" state)

I love morning hunts, but hate hauling my butt outta bed and hate spooking deer on the way in in the dark. The actual active hunting part once in a spot? I agree it's the most enjoyable (and not just the killin, shootin, tracking, recovery, processing, etc. - the "woods wakin' up" is awesome too)

I don’t hunt many evenings because woods and darkness are intimidating. At least in the morning you have the confidence knowing it will be light soon if you get lost. Get lost in the evening it’s a long 12 hours to daylight. I tend to hunt smaller parcels in the evenings

I hunt the mornings only because I love having the woods come to life around me. It's a magical time. Hearing animals moving around in the dark that you can't see, hearing the stirrings of birds, squirrels, etc,. In 20 years I think I've only shot one deer before 10am.

Im ashamed that I’ve been taking advice on here from a buncha people who haven’t killed a single deer, barely go hunting, are too lazy to get outta bed, and are scared of the dark.

Haha I was just thinking the same thing. You are out in the dark, blood tracking a buck in the rain at 11 pm and folks are sitting on the couch, watching Dancing with the Stars, telling you what you are doing wrong...

...and now I am sitting here waiting for someone to correct me on what time Dancing with the Stars comes on.
