Here's the actual we stepp ground chair. While a 1x6 works, I went with a 1x8. Really nice to be right up against a tree trunk. Had a lot of deer around me last weekend and killed a doe under 20 yds with a buck just behind her pushing. I know I was sitting on my 15" during the hunt.

Red beard, grab one and give it a sit. You can sit on the most raggedy as$ rock, stump and not feel it. Sit on it just like you would if it was a normal cushion.

I'd bet if your a saddle sitter, strapping one of these to the tree would likely be really good knee cushion too. I've definitely kneeled on them but when you don't Inflate them much like I do you gotta have both knees on to be a cushion

Guys, I may be thinking of the wheel diameter the tube is for. It's the size of my wheelbarrow, so whatever that is - is what I bought.

Yep! Two deer. One with M/L, one with 6.5 Grendel, and two turkey with shotguns.
Very fun!

Yes, it's doable. I had a spike nearly walk into me a year before last while pig hunting on foot with my longbow. I stopped for a minute by a big root ball of a fallen tree and I hear him coming up the draw. I could have put an arrow in him for sure. A good read for this approach is G. Fred Asbell's Stalking and Still Hunting: The Ground Hunter's Bible.

Yes, I really enjoy what some people refer to as "still hunting" and move really slowly from point to point or just stand in a good area at prime time. Cedar/juniper trees and edges of corn fields work great doing this.

My daughter made an inner tube cover for me. Sitting on this thing is kind of nice. Haven't sat long enough to tell if it's amazing or not. So simple though.

It can be done...on the ground...up close and personal...with a tradbow. Shot distance- 8 yards.

A perfect hunt in the snow Saturday from the ground. 24yds. Had my choice to take the biggest of the 5 doe. Family land I've hunted since a child. Everything played out as it should. Love it when that happens! She didn't live 30 seconds.
