"The official saddle hunting backpack thread"

I dont know if it's been posted already but a magellan bowpack is perfect for 2 hawk sticks on either side with the predator platform on the outside

I’m debating between the Badlands MRK 3, Mystery Ranch Sawtooth 45, Ebelstock X2 and the Alps Outdoorz Hybrid X. Has anyone made similar comparisons, or would love to share some pros and cons about these packs?

Let's see them post it up with pics. I went thru so many packs and I think I've found the one (Kuiu 1850 Pro). Here is my go to setup as if now. Whats in the pack. Badlands Pyre jacket and bibs (in these pic the bibs are not in the pack but will fit in there too), Badland bino C/Vortex 10x42, Garmin Gps, range fider, headlamp and flashlight, kill kit, water blatter, first aid kit, rope, deer calls and extra battery's.

No pack definitely can see me using just the frame more in the future

I’ve got a KUIU pack as a well and it’s great! As soon as I get my sticks I’ll post some pics. Nice setup!!

2021 setup:
Ebbie F1 mainframe and batwing pouches.
Modded lw sticks and predator platform wrapped in camo vet tape.
Quiet as a mouse, burly as a bear.

Any love for the Sitka tool bucket or MR Treehouse in this thread?

I’ve been thinking about this setup vs the M1 frame. Are you able to carry your bow on this frame?

My Camelbak Motherlode fits an OOAL RRxl almost like a frame.

Absolutely.

Is there enough space to carry the bow between the Batwings and the frame? Or do you strap the bow in front of the Batwings? Curious how you pack both your Platform and your bow on it at the same time

You can run your batwing pouches several different ways:

1) zip them into the frame...
A) and zip the two batwings together in the middle
B) and do not zip the two panels together, which leaves more room to cram stuff.

Using either of these methods, the 3 compression straps extending from the frame will run on the outside of the pouches.

2) feed the compression straps through the molle webbing on the back of the pouches instead of zipping them to the frame.

Because of the versatility of this system, you can run your bow beneath or atop the batwing pouches. You can also buy an accessory sleeve to rest the bottom limb of your bow in if you have maxed out your shelf space.

Hope this helps

Gotcha, that’s very helpful. Which pattern did you get?

Skye
Probably doesn’t matter on any significant measurable scale, but I thought it would blend in the best in a tree.
I will say the solid patterns are in stock more often so more easily found online. I had to look hard for skye pattern but found them at bob wards (online).

Yeah the pattern is great! I’m trying to figure out the best pattern to match elevated II

How do y’all with MR treehouse pack meat out?

I keep 2 game bags & a contractor bag in the bottom of my pack, use the gutless method & put one side in each game bag. Then I just use the contractor bag as a liner & place both game bags in the pack leaving the contractor bag open & the treehouse lid open as well. Just gotta get creative with strapping the stuff that was inside to the back of the pack. Usually I just have a jacket or vest in the open center section so it’s easy to strap on the outside the 3 inside compartments still function as normal ( for me one has a thermos/water bottle, another with camera gear & arm, the last one has first aid, kill kit, saw, pruners & tree strap)
