"The official saddle hunting backpack thread"

Yeah the LWCG waist belt and shoulder straps are not my cup of tea. They kinda suck because they’re just not robust. I removed the belt and just use the shoulder straps to bring it up the tree. If I were to not use my kifaru I’d probably attach a Molle frame army surplus to make it comfy. As soon as you throw a pack on the seat (load shelf) it’s super uncomfortable and bites the shoulders.

That was a cold weather all day sit planned. I use the triples and was messing with those sticks too.

The other side of the coin on the move speculation is may significantly impact production. I think their normal wait time is around 2 to 3 weeks from order to ship.
Definitely on my mind. I think I will wait until the new Hellbender comes out, see how it is priced and then decide.

I don't need the pack now, just by October. I did not know if they normally had sales throughout the year, July 4th and so on.
I am going to wait and see what happens and hope they do not have another price increase. With this inflation, I would not be surprised to see another price increase. If their material prices go up, they almost do not have a choice but to raise prices. For me waiting It's like going to Vegas without the lights and free drinks.

Keep an eye out around Memorial Day. I recollect a nice sale last year about then, but who knows what this year's plan is.

I browsed over the elkshape video on the Hellbender. Maybe I was distracted or maybe its just the video presentation, but that bag seemed busier than I could really follow. Also, XPAC seems noisier than standard Cordura, maybe I'm wrong. I don't think it would be better than the Stryker XL for me....but it has one feature I am a BIG fan of...

An Assualt-pac style (helmet) pouch. I have a small Assault pack I pair with my .5 and that helmet pouch is pure gold, imo. I have easy access to the climbing gear and saddle I stuff in there on the way in, and once set up, I load it with things I want quick access to while hunting...grunt tube, binos, etc. I prefer that over a pocket.

I ordered a Kifaru Sawtooth a couple days ago and they told me 3-4 weeks. I believe they are moving to Wyoming or someplace in the next couple months, one can only imagine that will delay production hence why I ordered now. I think Fathers Day is another day to watch for sales with Kifaru.

I could not resist it any longer, placed order today for the Kifaru Stryker. I did get the Military discount.
Noticed on the web site, if any item on the order is not in stock, they will not place the order.
Is this normal for Kifaru?

They hardly ever have anything in stock, something doesn’t sound right.

I have no idea, when I ordered my Sawtooth a couple weeks ago they told me a 3-4 week wait, I had it in about 7 days after I ordered it.. Colorado to NY so I don’t know what to think, probably the move like you guys said.

@GeoFish what frame did you get? Stryker is an awesome pack you will like it.
I got the lite frame in green. The pack in camo. One large pouch and one medium in green. One small pouch and water bottle in camo. Also ordered the pack from BMG for my EDP.

You didn’t mess around I like it! That will be a killer pack you should own for a very long time, well done!

Eberlestock has the Renegade pack on sale for $137. That looks like a pretty good pack especially at that price. Of course I just purchased an X2 about a month ago. I don’t need another pack. I don’t need another pack. I don’t need another pack. Lol
I saw the renegade on sale for about $140 on everlestocks website. I already own one of their bags so I knew it would be a good purchase even though there are hardly any reviews about it online. It the perfect bag for me! I can carry my sticks and platform on the outside, and everything else I need on the inside.[/QUOTE]

Kicking myself for not buying this when it was on sale. I had just purchased an X2 and talked myself out of the purchase and when I went back they were gone.
