The PLVOD (Public Land Van Of Death) Build Thread

Did u check voltage at it secondary battery while it was runnin and is it charging the whole time the vehicle is running? Will u bolt the battery box to the floor?
Checked to see if it was charging and it was. Not sure about the whole time though. Not sure if it charges both simotamiously or one after the other.

Even sealed battery will vent hydrogen....I used to have my 2nd battery in my rock truck in the cab but eventually ended up relocating to outside the cab.....read up and decide for yourself

I run 2 batteries because of long continuous winch pulls and it will build heat on long electric loads.... maybe a non-issue in ur situation

Me likey! Plenty of room for the cot as well. No beans allowed!

After measuring the rear tub where the back seats used to stow away in, I found this which should be an about perfect fit. I'll run the hose up for showers, dishes, ect. 8 gallons. Gotta cancel the Big Kahuna order! Since I decided not to put the battery back there, this, a 4 5 lbs gas bottle and a milk box with barely used tools should fit in there

Finished up the replacement handles. These are just used to un-ass the van and to hang crap on. Also let's me load the rods and bows closer to the roof by raising the straps.

Next step, and I wanted to get you guys opinions on this, is to introduce an ozone genorator into the vent system. Would only turn it on when noones in the van. Turn on ac or heat, turn on ozone machine to be dispersed through the van. The ozone machine would plug into the system just behind the fan, after the inside filter

Most of that system is plastic, any rubber there. Or is that an ok casualty over time....?

I would just plug a machine in and let it run for a good thirty min cycle. I do that in my truck every night before a hunt and when I start the truck to warm up I hit it again for 5-10 minutes. I wouldn't try and run it into the vents, I feel like that's a lot of time and extra work for something that works just as good just plugged in

As much as I think you should just put a unit in there and not go to the trouble of hooking it to ac, I really want you to do that. And to install a missile launch switch on the dash to turn it on

Thats what I typically do but was considering this for full distribution. Not just for hunting gear, but for the inevitable nasty fumes that would be produced by a guy or 2 after a 5 day trip! Camp food, cramped spaces and 5 days o mornin breath will certainly have a negative impact to air quality!
