The PLVOD (Public Land Van Of Death) Build Thread

Love the van camp. I converted a 4runner years ago with a bed platform and spent 100s of nights in it. Finally bit the bullet and bought a 4WD/AWD sprinter to build. I could never go back to a truck now!

When this dies, I might move into a sprinter or something a hair smaller.

The sprinter is pretty tall, but it’s pretty nice to be able to stand up and walk around. This one pulls double duty as a family camper, so it needs to be a little bigger. I hunt out west and it’s nice to have a mobil camp as I go from state to state. Also nice to be able to pull off and sleep anywhere on the way to or from a hunt, then back on the road in a minute or two.

Does the PLVOD have a shower? It does now! 8.5 gallons worth. And it all fits right under the rack and cooler

It's looking nice. Are you thinking of any road hunting trips now?

Shes pretty much done! I did a walk around video. Feel free to make suggestions on what I should add. Here are a few things not shown in the video:
1. Complete tool set/emergency kit with pump in the sub floor
2. Tarp with extending poles for awning. The tarp is general purpose so that nothing only has one use. The poles are mounted just inside the right side sliding door in a black bag (can be seen in the video)
3. I have a battery booster behind the battery for when I do run the starting battery and secondary battery down.
4. Full set of plates, bowls, utinsles, pots, pans and a couple of collapsible buckets in the wire basket under the gas stove.
5. The van can, and will be driven with cots deployed so that we dont have t set up and tear everything down each time we move.
6. Takes 5 minutes to completely set up ( minus the awning)

Heres the link

I’ve been keeping up with this since you started the thread and man I am impressed. The PLOVD is sweet I’d love to do something like this for where I hunt. Ready to see some photos of the van in action during season. Great job on the build!
