I been seeing threads about hunters leaving stands and etc in the woods and whether if it's legal or not. I thought I would start one to just post pics or talk about things we have found in the woods, whether if its illegal or not. It could be a deer, critter, or anything that made you snap a photo of it. Today was a first for me though, and the reason I wanted to start this thread(last pics).....

Aw man, finding those grow pots (no pun intended) is crazy. Be careful, I've heard that they are sometimes heavily protected...
And that 2x4 stand... man... crazy.

These are just a few I have on my phone now. The first is a old climber or lock on bottom that’s about 40 ft up in a tree now with a old like pool ladder at the base that isn’t but about 6 foot tall. How it got that far up I don’t know. The second one is a old old cypress tree that had fell and what’s left is just half of the trunk. That’s my Mathews traverse laying in it. The side of the tree from ground to top are about 4 foot tall so just the base of that tree alone may have been almost 10 foot or more in diameter the biggest one I’ve ever seen. The carving in the tree is something i found while turkey hunting down in a bottom about 1/4 mile away from any easy access road.

I wish I had all the picture I have this topic I could go on forever about. I’ve also found a old set of big log grabs that had one tong broke completely off some how in the same area I found the big cypress tree. Also have a picture somewhere of an old tree stand made out of a 50 gallon metal drum.

judging by there only being the 2 plants, my money is on someone threw them out there to grow on public land so that they dont get in trouble for having them grow on their property, ive seen that before

Oh yea it's clear as day where the person came from as it butts up against some private, my guess is some kid did it.

I probably won't even recognize the stuff if I'd run over it in the woods. Never been involved with it and never had any interest for it.

Thought that was the new Predator XXXXXXL for a minute...

That stand was maybe 50 yards in the woods away from a double inside edge of two fields. Good spot.

I’ve got more pics, just have to find them. Some of the places I hunt are municipal or county property that, ages ago, was hunted.

Now it is in a controlled culling group. When I go out and post, or walk the swamps/woods, I find lots of old (and some, not so old (still dealing with poachers)) home made jobbers. Usually I set up somewhere near them and have good luck.

If they are newish/safe and not identified as part of the culling group, they get removed and a nice ordinance / no hunting sign goes up in its place.

Forever wild land in the south side??? I think I've seen those clothespins and that old man stand. Never found somebody's stash before.
