Things you have bought that turned out to be not worth the cost or were a waste of money?

Things You Bought and disliked. Gear, Products, etc. who's usefulness was short lived or turned out to be a waste of money.

Almost every pair of gloves I have ever bought. I ended up loosing, dropping or forgetting them in the woods.
So I had my wife sew a pair of gloves together with an long elastic between them. And now they are attached together permanently. Each glove hanging from each sleave in a coat of my choice. Pull the gloves and elastic out when I want to switch coats.

You and Randy:)

Every type of scent control I've ever bought. Nothing beats a favorable wind.

Thermocell. It just has no effect on bugs here in central NC. They just laugh at it.

Xop j-hooks for attaching sticks to stand or platform. Stupid loud, don't stay tight, and usually forget them.

Cheap backpacks.........so many that will never be used.
Thermocell....took it with me 4 times during early season. Have not even turn it on yet and the bugs doesn't bother me at all, guess the threat of it was enough. Will find out next season when I totally leave it.
Hand muff for saddle hunting. Might change my mind for my hybrid setup.
Extra buck tag every year. But I'll continue to buy them every year.
hats/facemask/etc. Basically anything that cover my head/face. Just can't stand them when I'm in the tree.

That's a loooong list... I will say that basically almost anything I ever tried to save money on vs. buying what I actually wanted falls under this category. Cheap optics, large platforms, blood tracking lights, cheap flashlights, cheap batteries, and factory ammo, to start lol.

The thermacell is Gods gift to the southern outdoorsman-you hush your Yankee mouth!

I've gotten good use out of the Deer View Mirror and the Fart Baffler, both, so I'm not going to be much use on this thread ... LOL

All my money for outdoor gear has been well-spent. :)

Thermacell is a must-have ...Sometimes two, some places.
Never understood the deer view mirror. If things in the mirror are backwards, isnt the deer in front of you?

Doyle’s hoist wasn’t great, X2 backpack, UV button release, Lacrosse boots, various brand name under layers (I stick with Firstlite now), and I agree with the Thermacell comment…NY mosquitoes just land on it

LW climbing sticks....heavy (4-pk) But I was new to hang-ons
Lots of gimmick stuff
Knife with a gut hook (forget brand) More rip than cut

Best climber I ever bought and still have...API Bowhunter. VERY comfy ZZzzzz
Very happy I found saddle hunting, but still figuring stuff out... $$$$
API climber, though heavy were my favorite climbing stand ever. Wish I never hacked mine up and got rid of it.

Left handed UV Slider. It’s just an upside down right. Owned it for about 30 minutes before I had a return label.
