I keep trying "real" packs with internal frames and load lifters and all that jazz for hunting, mainly thanks to @kyler1945. I like a frame back for backpacking. And every time I pack out a deer in my schoolboys backpack I don't love it. But I can't find one I like, and they're all too dang big and fiddly and noisy.
I would rather carry my crap in a gunny sack and eat the deer where it falls than fool with any of them I have monkeyed with
Old school surfer…flips or barefootI’m in the minority here but I hate those things
Scout.
I want it to be my favorite,… it’s just a bit too small on comfort compared to ROS or a larger platform (UP/ Predator)
Frame pack- if I had the mindset that I was killing a deer every time I walked into the woods, I would only use my Pop up, even if it only had my tag & a knife in it.
Odd I really only use it when it’s cold and I have it packed up like I’m about to thru hike the AT.
X2 on the scout! Wanted to love it and could shove the whole thing in a Fanny pack but I was uncomfortable on even short sits
Hey! So helpful you sold me your scout, eh?Did you guys try putting a couple of ROS steps on the scout strap? Made a big difference for me.
Ozonics unit. It was just too loud over my head. I liked the way it worked, but I couldn't hear those delicate foot steps and it drove me crazy. Early season, sweating, swirling winds, it flat out did it's job. I just like hearing the woods talk to me.
Cheap, heavy gear. 30 inch Hawk helium's come to mind. I even stealth stripped them, like that was the main problem that needed solving, but everyone's a newbie once. I still am, but I'm slightly smarter. Yes I could carry them. No I don't want to lol.
Just about everything saddle related honestly.
Saddle hurt back for all day sit (rch +fleece waaay better than any manufactured saddle-for my body)
Still searching for something as convenient as a climber at tree
