I can't say enough good things about these guys. This recent one with Zach on OH public really hits home, I hunt south OH and watching success is really inspiring.

FF to about 21:30 when it gets good. Sorry, no saddle content. :)

Congrats fellas. That was fun to watch. And I know it was a ton of work to give us that video.

That is exceptional video documentation of a hunt. Watching it you can actually experience the excitement and tension in heat of the moment and the real reaction once that tension is released.

I actually found myself tensing up as if I was actually there. It's good to see that even a guy who hunts big buck locations as much as Zach does still gets the "fever" when a nice buck approaches and needs to work through it, you could actually hear it in his breathing. To his credit he controlled it and took his time to do it right waiting for the right open shot, on camera no less.

I know this isn't the case for everybody but for me this "shot of adrenaline" is one of the biggest draws of hunting. I'm an adrenaline junky but I'm at an age where I don't dare do some of the things I used to do to get that "fix". Hunting still provides an avenue for that for me.

That was a good episode! How cool would it be to check your trailcam and see Zach on it, lol. I would assume the deer I was after is dead at that point.

Thank you to THP to show hunting from an "everyman's" perspective. QDMA and videos of guys shooting trophies on private land had us all hot and bothered for a while but I think the universe is leveling things out when THP shows someone shooting a smallish Iowa buck with a funky rack, or a couple dudes unloading 10 rounds on some busted up bucks in Wisconsin. That pure love of hunting and the comradere of who you do it with is starting to take hold with lots of people.

I've watched every video these guys have ever produced. I have learned more from them than any other single source. I hope they continue to gain in popularity and success while staying true to their guiding principles. There are probably people that routinely kill bigger bucks, but name me one person that does it on public land, all over the country and gets it on camera. I don't think there is anyone else that is a known, public hunter that pulls this off.

I grew up hearing people around my hunting camp say, "Id rather be lucky than good." I always thought that was silly. These guys show what it looks like to be good rather than lucky. You might get lucky and kill a few good bucks. But their consistency is astounding.

I love the content. But would like to see them more into the heavier pressured states. Come back to Michigan, or back in Mississippi. They struggled some in PA. Zach has been really working to be out of his comfort zone it seems. Hunting Ohio in December. Seems they don't have to work to hard to stick a good buck in Iowa or Missouri any more.
I really enjoyed them breaking down new areas to them and going through the process. Hope they focus on that more than just shooting goodens in Iowa and Missouri.

I love watching these guys and have watched about all of their videos but have to agree that I think there are some states where they would struggle. My state of Maine would be a prime example. Try that sh*t in Northern Maine where the deer density is 10 to 15 deer per square mile. It ain't happenin.

10-15 dpsm ain't so bad. I'm sure they would adjust there tactics accordingly and get on deer like they do everywhere else. Everyone thinks their state is the hardest to hunt.

When they go to high pressure states, they have a harder time. Just watch their public land challenges versus them driving to Kansas. That being said, they still do well compared to most hunter, but they do better in better habitats with lower pressure. Some states are legitimately harder to hunt regardless of the fact that people also experience biases (excuses) around it as well. Are you saying "people like to belly ache about woes is me instead of getting out there and trying harder to get the best out of what they have?" I agree with that.

Have you ever hunted northern Maine? No acorns, no ag, and a lot of it you can't see 20 ft in front of you much less walk through it. When you watch them hunting on public in states like Iowa, Kansas, Illinois etc. and they are seeing 20 to 30 deer a day and 2,3 or more big bucks a day that is just a fantasy in my state. I've been hunting for over 40 years in Maine and can count on one hand the amount of times I have seen 10 or more deer in a full day of hunting. It's not because I suck at hunting either. There has been several years that I have shot 4 or 5 deer in a season and I hunt almost exclusively with a bow. Also until about 10 or 12 years ago it was one and done in Maine regardless of weapon used. Some states are absolutely easier to be successful in or why else would they be top destinations for trophy deer.

One thing I really like is they don't focus on how big the rack is. It's not about shooting a monster. There after a mature buck. That's it. They don't score them and brag about how much it weighs. It's the ultimate chess match.
They have that chance to win a hunt with them in Iowa. But truthfully I would rather spend a week in a new area learning how they break it all down and go through the process first hand with someone like that. I find that part the most exciting.

I like watching you Maine boys n’ gals get it done in those woods. We have more rolling hills in Ontario starting around Huntsville and it is challenging to lock down some deer But rewarding. Would love to watch THP hunt that type of terrain. Bet they would get the job done if they have enough time and local intel.

What do you think of this? We don't often get a chance to do this type of hunting in MI but this guy's style of filming is also pretty great.

I have met Jeff once and know his father pretty well, there both super nice guys, we hunt some of the same country and the same style.I held that rack in my hands off that big one he got last year, an absolute beauty. All this talk about still hunting and tracking on saddlehunter, finally something I can relate too LOL
