Has anyone successfully built a top stick platform. What i mean by this is the last step on my sticks is a platform or a connection point for a platform.

Yes that's exactly what I'm looking for. Was that out of aluminium angle?

My idea is to take a piece of aluminium angle and fabricate a top step platform. Didn't want to buy a ton of it to try out prototypes that might damage my sticks.

That’s the artisan outdoors platform that bolts right on. Out on a limb makes one that’s angled called the scout people use as well. A few guys even put both on together and it makes a pretty slick one stick/platform set up.

Dude the scout is like $60 bucks. Save your money and get it, you won’t regret it.

My buddy added some aluminum to this summit buckstep for me. I have been using it while trying out my Crüzr XC and very pleased with both. I will be adding a rope cleat soon to make better for one sticking and a paint job. Handles side pressure very well.

@ Vernon Bkocker what size angle did you use? The idea I have is similar.

You’re a mad man! Very cool! Are you simply mounting them on top of one another? I felt as if the slots in the scout directly contribute to its strength and stability. Do you feel as if you sacrificed anything by not utilizing the channel and simply mounting it on top of the artisan? Thanks

Possibly/Probably, seeing as how the artisan is the one that is directly channeled into the stick, however, a multi-bolt connection between Scout, Artisan, and Stick is stout. Not a bit of wiggle.

Also, I don’t think the channel in the scout is necessary for it’s strength. It’s a really rigid piece. Here’s another pic of the bolts from the guy I got it from

I didn’t know the artisan had channels too. Cool!

Ok folks I went as simplistic as I could and this is what I came up with. I started out with a 3x3x1/4 square structural aluminium 6160 I believe. Spend 4 days designing and got bogged down with stuff I normally sort out in CAD. I've done some preliminary testing on it. Under my whopping 170 this stands up to it easily. I plan on doing a little more to my sticks like shorten them and see how my micro platform works. Paint and skateboard grip tape should do the trick.
