I always like to bring one of my kids to help me track, even if it's a squirrel that dropped where I shot it or in today's case, a doe that fell where I shot her. My 9yo loves the adventure of walking through the woods in the dark, carrying a flashlight and chatting me up the whole way. He always gets a kick out of us getting "caught on the trailcam" and loves helping me drag and dress the deer. It's a great way to introduce kids to hunting as it doesn't require them to be silent or still and makes them really look forward to when they are old enough to join you. It also makes for some great stories to tell their friends at school the next day and memories they'll remember for a lifetime. If you can't bring your kids hunting, bring them tracking!
