Got another with the selfbow. This time it was a 66” John Strunk “Spirit” Osage 52# at 26”, self nock Surewood Shaft w/VPA 3blade on the business end. This old nanny made the mistake of walking behind my at about 12 yds. Gotta love a saddleView attachment 76483

Great kill!! Ive got a similar K-mag waiting on its first kill. What sort of arrow setup are you shooting and how did it perform?

My 10year old daughter killed her first every deer on November 13th. Her 26# at 24" draw longbow was enough to get full body cavity penetration at 8yds with an old magnusII broadhead. View attachment 76517View attachment 76518
Most excellent! That's one of the best posts in this thread. Your little girl is awesome and dad is doing a great job. Keep up the good work.

Thats awesome, congrats to both of you.

priceless, great setup and poise your daughter has already. Make sure you have a few good backups of that video :)
I just dont think I can love this enough!! That is AWESOME!!

Not sure who was more amped up more. My favorite was how she tried to keep a very calm face...then you could see her start to crack, then she'd reel it back in...she's been a bowhunter since we got her first bow when she was 2.5yo. Refused to go hunting with a gun, refused to use her papa's crossbow. Seeing her friends success on deer and turkey, trying to push her jealousy button to get her in the woods with a weapon sooner....all she said was, "I'll be the first to do it with a bow." She understood, that meant putting off hunting until her mother and I felt she had adequate energy to get the job done. She's accompanied me since she could walk, into the woods...she's seen me kill a few deer with my longbow, she's gone with me to check cams, scout river bottoms, etc. I take her hunting whenever she's free after school, and every weekend. She's addicted now.
