So I had a TH Tree Suit. Got it in and tried it. Had trouble getting it to be as quiet as I wanted. I gave it my best shot but ended up returning it. Still think it’s an nice platform, just not what I’m looking for I guess. But instead of getting my money back I sent Mark $20 more and ordered a Crotch Rocket to try. Got it in today. I think this thing is gonna be pretty cool in the right setting! He even made it in the black coating for me at my request. Pretty cool!

Those spikes on the sides are sharp!! Wanted to find a way to cover them. I found that using a cheap Allen arrow puller from Walmart works perfect for this. It’s just the right size. Combine that with a nitize gear tie and it’s ready to go anywhere without stabbing yourself of your car seats.

I have a crotch rocket too. You have to get above it to set it in good and tight but once it’s set it’s solid. Comes out easy too when you’re done hunting.

Yeah makes sense. Good to know. Do you use yours a lot or just once in a while in the right setting?

@Westdesign03 - The reviews of the crotch rocket that I’ve seen have been really favorable - Treehopper products are excellent quality - and that black traction coating for their platforms is great.

Beyond that, Treehopper’s customer service is exceptional! Mark Cama has been really great to deal with in my experience. He goes above and beyond almost every other company I’ve dealt with to ensure customer satisfaction, and if you decide you just want to return something - it’s a no hassle return.

I have the older one that this is based on and I love it but it has to be the right situation for it that is the only thing I don't like!!

Yup, I have the old bear creek as well...Quite a bit heavier than the new one, but it is AWESOME on the farm or anywhere with old apple trees or the like. Definitely situation dependent, but when the situation is right, they are rock solid.

Good to know! I still have yet to get it into a tree.

That’s also been my experience with Mark. Awesome dude to deal with, no hassle and super helpful! I do like his products too, even though I returned the tree suit, it was still an awesome platform. This rocket is no exception so far.

Yeah I can see that being the case. I bought it knowing that’s how it’ll be though. I’m fine with it.

I wonder if you could build a frame that could slide into this end that has a post so you could use it for a regular platform. Then you truly would have a "one size fits all" solution. Just the DIY in me.

Is anyone using one of these in combination with rope climbing? Would this do well in that type of combination?

Interesting idea. I could see it almost like a bracket that attaches to the tree and then is like like a fork lift kind of thing where the rocket slides onto the fork part of the bracket and secures into it somehow.

I think you could and I may run into an instance this year that I do that. I think you would just have to get yourself high up enough to be able to get above it to place and set it into the tree properly.

I was able to set the rocket up in the one tree in my yard that it would work in. I was amazed how easy it was to set and take down. I’m sold! Definitely keeping this puppy. Glad I bought it. Won’t be used for every hunt but will be awesome where it will work.

Interesting potential here. Are the dimensions such, width wise, that you could slip that square tubing over a pair of Squirrel Steps after they've been buckled to a tree? The tree would have to be big enough so that the angles were right.

Nice! Will you pack it in along with your other platform method? ROS, step platform or whatever.

I very well might. Maybe not in all situations. If anything I might go into an area with just my RR platform, hunt and/or scout and take note of the trees in there. Then the next trip in if there is one, I might bring both. Maybe even use both at the same time if the tree is right and in the right spot.

I've been looking at these and wondering if an aider hanging from bottom would make it easier to lock in and climb up on to?
