Treehopper Recon sling

Seems pretty good, I haven't sat much it it yet I just prepped some trees yesterday and was impressed by how well it stayed in place. You can adjust the top and bottom sections of it for your liking, i know leaning in it feels good.
Thank you.

What are the advantages of the amsteel bridge over the strap? I met mark yesterday at the Harrisburg show and paid for a sling but didn’t know which bridge I wanted. This is my first saddle so I have 0 experience, but in a quick learner and very handy so I want to get what’s going to be the most beneficial in the long run. The strap setup seemed very simple and lightweight so I guess I’m not seeing and advantage of the Amsteel with the prusic. Thanks

Is their another saddle-sling company giving their customers updated bridges, belts to try free? For that fact alone Treehopper deserves a hard look when you are looking for a saddle. Plus you will receive a well made piece of gear that doesn't cost a arm and a leg.
Mark has went above and beyond to help. Also created a pretty dang versatile saddle

I have the webbing bridge. I would think that the amsteel plates would be great to use like the phantom to tighten at your waist as a second belt. Or you could just use rope.

I have the webbing bridge and love it. If you leave a biner on it, you can pull it to the side and clip it to the molle webbing acting as a second belt and keeping ic out of the way.

I like the feel of webbing more than Amsteel. I feel the "speed bumps" of the buries with Amsteel. Webbing is smooth from one end to the other when rotating under weight.
I like Amsteel but I like webbing better.

I've only been in a tree, in my Recon once. I have the webbing bridge on it. I was used to the rope bridge on my Kestrel. The rope bridge seems to slide a little easier through the carabiner than the webbing bridge does but again, I have limited time with the webbing bridge. I would assume that the Amsteel bridge would slide a bit easier than the webbing through the carabiner.

I had a webbing bridge on my kestrel and didn't like how it felt compared to the amsteel bridge on my mantis. The webbing was tubular though. Not sure if that would have a big impact or not. Now I have the amsteel utilibridge on my sling and couldn't imagine changing it. So versatile...I can tighten it enough to use as a belt!

Plus any time I get a chance to play with amsteel is a win

The biners I use have a flat area on the wide end so the webbing fits in and slides easily over it.

Just got home to to a package from Mark at Treehopper. ANOTHER new belt option! This is the speed buckle you now see on their website. Holy crap, this is a home run. I can cinch the sling down tight like a belt, it's easynot lose to hang, and it comes apart. I love it.
Mark really doesn't stop till he gets something just right- and gets the updates out to the customers. Guys, you are all going to be psyched with this new belt!!!

He sent me one also. Class act all the way!

I'm in fighting shape right now so my waist is down to 28". How small does the belt get?

I'm a 32" waist and the buckle is pretty much as tight as it can get. I'd say if you use the bridge and a biner to tighten it up the rest of the way by clipping the bridge, giving it a few twist, then hooking it to a molly loop on the waist you'll probably get there. I wouldn;t be afraid to give it a try though. Shoot Mark an email and let him know your concerns, I"m guessing he will tell you to just send it back, no questions asked if you cant tighten it to your likeing...

I will 2nd this. I'm 32" waist as well and it's as tight as it will go. Any less and it'll start coming down. I've contacted Mark on trying to make a smaller version... but we shall see

You can also take a biner(oval works best), and clip one molle loop in the center on the back to another to create a "Pleat" when walking around and then remove it when you're ready to hang. This works pretty well too.

He is gonna make 2 more sizes of slings...1smaller and 1 larger. He said he will be pumping those out as soon as he gets back from Harrisburg.
Im about 35" and the belt is maxed out tight. Anyone smaller than ~35" should get the small size.
