Hey guys I thought I would share some learnings with you, that I found while making my 8mm Oplux Tree Tether.

I chose to order 9 feet of Sterling Oplux, and 4 feet of Beal Kevlar 5.5mm Cordelette (for my Distel Hitch), all from Eastern Woods Outdoors.

After tying my stopper knot and double overhand knot on the Oplux my finished rope length was roughly 7’ 2”, so you lose about 2’ of rope from tying the knots.

I wasn’t sure on the amount of Beal Kevlar I would need, because I have never attempted to make a distel hitch. I ended up having 15 inches left over. So I would have been ok with ordering 3 feet of rope.

Hope this helps guys, if anyone is looking to switch to Oplux with a distel hitch.

Is that one of the 3D printed shizzl knock off? How does it work tending rope? Noise? Weight? Where did you get it? Thx.

I found the Michoacan hitch to be more effective. When I tried the distel hitch with the same combination, the hitch would slowly creep down on occasion.

It sure is! It works great, noise is minimal, and weight is less than an ounce. I actually print and sell them. Let me know if you want one. I sell them: 1 for $12 tyd 2 for $20 tyd.

Thx, will do.

Hey guys! Been really wanting to create this video explaining how my 3D Printed Tenders work, because I have received a lot of questions about them, and there have been a ton of posts recently in this group about mechanical ascenders. These do replace the need to use mechanical ascenders on your lineman rope and tether. Hope this video helps though. Let me know if you have any other questions, or if you’re interested!

Thanks again to all the guys who have bought one of these from me already. All the positive and constructive feedback has been amazing!

For some reason that doesn't look like a distel hitch.. The bottom looks "funny" I could be wrong as I'm not expert. The person who posted theres below looks like a distel hitch, but this one for some reason just looks different.
