Anybody using 1/2” bolts? I have two Treehopper 1/2” drill bits I’m going to sell. PM me.

Just got my second shipment of bolts in. I love these cap head suckers. 30 should be enough lol.

When are you preset bolt boys drilling out your trees? I’m in Wisconsin and would love to drill some trees out now but is it too soon?

You can preset now if you want. I have several where I leave grade 8 bolts in the tree. If you aren’t going to leave bolts in the tree but drill them now you will almost certainly have to redrill them in the fall.

Where are you getting them from?

eBay. Search for this, “Socket Head Cap Screw 3/8"-16 x 6-1/2"”. I have bought twice from the seller HQCTools.

Tempted to order 100. For a bunch of presets. Hmmmm....

What is the coating?

“Black oxide”
Black oxide is really just a form of traditional bluing. IT is converting red oxid(rust) into black oxide which creates a protective rust resitant coating on the metal. I have rust blued (black oxide)several firearms and it is a very durable coating!

Mine didn’t seem oily but I vet wrap mine anyway.
Just a heads up for anyone that buys a bulk order from Treehopper... they WILL be oily. They will need washed, then painted because they'll start rusting almost immediately after the oil is temoved.
So deal with it now, don't wait until a few weeks before hunting season to take care of details.
