Triangle quick link for tether

I have a new old stock 06 Trophyline and I really enjoy it, but the one problem I've encountered is that the 2inch webbing bridge is too wide for my biner and doesn't allow me to shift my hips to turn. I'm not a huge fan of the heavy strap tether that came with my saddle.

The problem is that I dont live in an area where I can possibly just pop into an indoor gym or somewhere that sells equipment to actually hold a device in my hands to make sure it would work before purchasing, and online it's pretty difficult to tell size.

So onto my question, can I purchase a triangle quick link (like the one in the picture) since a lot of them are rated and use it in place of the biner on my tether? I think this should allow me to slide my hips.

Would using one of these in my ropeman1 cause any issues or would I need to carabiner the ropeman and clip the triangle lock into the carabiner?

Cheers

I cannot recommend using this with a ropeman however, why don’t you look into using a bigger biner? For example, go buy the one that comes with the new Trophyline: Black Diamond Mini Pearabiner. It’s big enough for the new bridge. Would someone confirm that the new bridge is also 2” like the old one and so the Pearabiner would work?

Yea I wouldn't think it would work in a ropeman, but I suppose it would work in a prusik.

The mini in the name leads me to believe that I would have issues with a 2in strap, but I guess I figured the new saddles came with rope bridges as opposed to the old 2in straps.

I want to know what I get will work without issue and that's why I've been hesitant to just buy one online.

I second this

I have a couple of screw lock Petzl Williams and they are great

They will fit & are pretty lightweight for their size

Any idea if they work with a kong duck?
