After all the new gear, different setups, and thousands of combinations…

What do you guys find yourself falling back to (after buying and selling… or hoarding haha) time and time again?

* EDIT* Guess I need to specify lol - Stand, platforms, saddle, sticks, etc.

Well, I've Bought New W.E.Steppladders Three Times and may try again but always go back to my Muddy Pros. For My Snacks: Granola Bars, Sorry no Little Debbies Here!

Cruzr XC/ Lonestar 3.0

The fix is the best platform I ever used but my sell it to grab the ambush.
Treestyxs and beast sticks the best on the market. No contest.

However, no man knows more on selling and buying the same thing 26 times in a row more than @enkriss

Metolius Element carabiner. I’ve bought and sold several over the years and always return. For me they’re the perfect biner - pear shaped, lightweight but strong, small enough to be versatile for almost any application.

LWCG .5
Cruzr xc have no idea what hip pinch is. Only saddle I’ve had.
Tethrd one sticks

Wouldn’t mind having a saddle platform again but the offside shot makes me Leary.
No interest in another saddle
Sticks are up in the air.

Stand LWCG 1.0 - realization I am 6’-4” and the .5 is to small took 16 purchases
Platform - Squirrel steps
Sticks - beast sticks, my mind will not let me remember how many I bought and sold
Saddle can’t say I have bought many over the last 2 years and most that I have bought have been disappointing. Been using one a buddy made for me.

Lwcg crossover climber with buzzard roost saddle.

So I guess what my tried in true is a pleated saddle, 2 separate anchor points to the tree for climbing, multi step aider, and a tiny angled platform

I’ve bought and sold many things over the years too, though not compared to some others around here.

WE Stepp ladder- on my 4th set and I’m keeping them for realz now. Though they are a fun (for me) option but not my only option to get into a tree.

Beast Stand- on my 2nd one. First was lost/stolen due to my mistake. I like playing with saddle hunting but my tried and true always seems to be this stand and hybrid hunting out of it in a saddle. A Novix would be a close second. Would love to say LWCG but the fact that they cut straps will forever bother me unless they change it.

Have not repeat bought sticks yet. Though Beast sticks may make their way back sooner or later, depending on how the Carbon SS’s hold up for the next few years or more.

LWCG .5 is money for me. Usually I use it in a hybrid setup but I also use it as a regular hang on. It’s been beyond comfortable for me and I’m 6’3”.

Tethrd Phantom Saddle. It’s the first one I had, and used others/bought and sold others and keep coming back to it. Seems to just fit me great

Tethrd One Sticks. Still the fastest and easiest attachment method imo. Upgrade the ropes and have zero concerns.

Pretty sure they fixed that strap cutting issue last year. I am still waiting for Beast gear to fix the squeaky noises the beast stand makes. So far all 6 I bought made noise that drove me insane. The beast stand is the most comfortable treestand I had to sit in. Excellent size and weight… just that damn noise!

I saw that they do a small deburring thing on the LWCG stuff now a days. I’ve seen YouTube videos though where the guy strap still get chewed up by it though. Maybe takes longer to happen but. I dunno I guess I’m still skeptical because of that.

I agree with you about the Beast stand. Still don’t understand how you’re getting the squeak though. I’ve never had anything like that on my first one or current one.
