Trophyline Ambush Pro question

Is there a correct way to feed the waist strap through on the trophyline Ambush pro? I just received mine yesterday and it doesn't show a right or wrong way to feed the strap. Seems simple but this is my first time in a saddle and I want to make sure I'm doing everything the correct way.

Behind the buckle and to the left of the slider bar (so the strap is feeding away from you) over the slider bar and strap feeding through towards you. If you get annoyed with it sliding down look into a 2" Cobra buckle or something similar.

This is the way I do it. Its the only way I get it to stay. The buckle itself will loosen as you walk if you wear it walking in. There are better buckles referenced this forum you can get on Amazon i will most likely upgrade to.

OK great. Thanks for the input guys. I just wanted to make sure I'm doing everything the correct and safe way. I looked all over YouTube but couldn't seem to find a demo on how to actually feed the strap. Thanks again

Couple questions on adding a buckle. Do you cut the old one off? Also does it change the length of the waist belt? Only reason I ask is I wouldn't want it to make the belt any smaller.

I cut mine off but instead of cutting the strap I cut the threads that hold the belt fold on which holds the buckle on. Tediously removed the remnants of the old threads then threw on a plastic wast buckle that’s much quieter and lighter. It also stays tighter than the stock. I folded and sewed a tab to stop the buckle from coming off the thread cut side and taped the tag end and only use one side for adjustment. This way will give a little more length in the belt.

Yeah I think I know what you are saying. I might have to give it a try. I was having a hard time getting the wait belt to stay in place even hanging from my tether (ground level of course). Your belt idea looks like the way to go. Is the purpose of the waist belt just to keep it from sliding down? Mine didn't seem load bearing once I was hooked into my tether.

Your correct, the waist belt is only for holding it on you and is not load bearing. Mine would do the same thing. I’d stand up once in a tree or at the ground after sitting and it would fall down a little from loosening once I took the load off my bridge. Doesn’t happen anymore.

OK definitely gonna do it. I'm kinda in between sizes too. The XL seemed way too big. Shawn shipped me the L and everything fits alot better but I don't have a ton of extra room on the waist belt. That's why I was wondering if it made it smaller. Thanks again for the info. Much appreciated!

I used a seam ripper to take the old buckle off to keep the length in the belt (no cutting). The adjustable side on the old buckle doesn't need cut just feed through the new buckle. You can buy a no sew Cobra buckle that can be tightened from both sides of the buckle. Works great! https://www.amazon.com/AustriAlpin-Cobra-Buckle-Adjustable-No-Sew/dp/B06XKPPGNV/ref=sr_1_27?dchild=1&keywords=2"+no+sew+cobra+buckle&qid=1585322990&sr=8-27
