Well, we're two weekends (12 sits and 33 hours for me) into Michigan's deer season and I thought I'd give a update on my platform situation. I have hunted on the Predator since it came out. I have a season on the Gen1 and two on the Gen2 and honestly thought it was gonna be impossible to displace as my primary platform. Honestly it meets my requirements and is the most packable full size platform I've found.

So far this year I have hunted exclusively on Trophyline EDP and it has frankly out paced my expectations. The thing absolutely locks to the tree (my Predator sometimes would slide under slight side pressure) and it provides more options for positioning. I wasn't about the "handle" nose of the front of the platform when I got it but I have found that handle gives me the additional ability to sit (or lean) a bit sideways on the platform which I really seem to set up to do frequently.

The Predator is still the king of packability. Its slim profile makes it much easier to pull from and return to the pouch of my pack while suspended (I have already had to grapple/retrieve my knee pad twice using the EDP where its additional width pulled it out along with it). Also I can't say I won't put the Predator back into rotation when the season get colder and I have to pack more layers but right now you'd be hard pressed to get the EDP out of my pack.

I'm fully on board with the EDP and if I had to pick between one I would be using the EDP. Honestly I can say I'm completely and pleasantly surprised.

I just switched from the Ridge Runner to the EDP. I wanted a true cam style platform. So far, this thing is rock solid and so much earlier to secure than the Ridge Runner.

Agreed. I went though 3 RR’s before I decided it was time to try something else. Have not looked back yet since the EDP.

Me too. I tried the RR 3 times trying to convince myself I liked it!

Oh yeah lol. I really liked the RR and still do. I just wish it was more stable and stayed tight to the tree. There’s just other options that do all that and more now. So. Is what it is I guess.

So far only complain on my edp is it’s a bit of a bear to fold back up.

What makes it hard to fold up? Just stiff? I feel like the Tethrd Predator I bought recently seems a little too unfinished and clanky. Maybe it's fine once I get some silencing tape on it though.

You down with EDP (Yeah you know me), you down with EDP (Yeah you know me)
You down with EDP (Yeah you know me), who's down with EDP (Every last homie)

The black plastic cap on the end of the post just makes it very snug. Starting to loosen up now though.
