Trophyline mission platform

I’d also like to know how people are planning on packing this in. I considered using some surplus ALICE pack straps I have and using it as a frame pack with my jacket bungee’d to the back. I’m concerned with the center bump out that looks like it could make it fairly uncomfortable to carry in. One possible alternative is to use a foam pad instead of knee pads once at height and use the same pad as a back pad for some stand-off while walking in with it in frame pack mode.
This is kinda what im doing with the foam knee pad. I use this pack and put the platform between the shoulder straps/expandable section and run the upper pack's straps through the platform at the top edge and clip it in. The bump was too much so i have some excess foam im strapping at the lower part to keep it all flat. Pack only weighs 2 lbs 5oz. When its all expanded it has 2700cubic inches of space. Super comfy. Im gonna sew on some molle loops for clipping more stuff in though.Screenshot_20200903-202850_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20200903-202858_Chrome.jpg

Just put my order in. Has anyone painted/camoed it out yet? How does the paint adhere and last? Any pics?

I dont think you really need to. Its not like sticks going up the tree. you cant see it much from the ground with all the light going through it. Might as well camo paint the bottom of your boots too :tonguewink:

It's not a Mission platform but if anyone is interested, this is how I carry my Predator and I'm sure it could be adapted to the Mission by you DIY guys...

Just received my mission platform yesterday. Based on at least a couple different YouTube reviews I had seen, I was under the impression that the platform itself, (once beyond pre productions models that were shown in the videos) Was going to be painted/coated with something. Mine appears to be raw cast aluminum. Just curious if all other platforms received by others are the same way

My first one looked decent. This other one I got is about as shiny as aluminum foil.

I will let you know as soon as mine is delivered Wednesday. Looks like a rattle can camo job is going to happen.

Mine is not painted just raw cast aluminum

update on packing it.Once I decided that it was just a mini treestand and to pack according it got easier for me to deal with. Instead of trying to find a pack I put XOPtreestand backpack straps on it and got my Beast sticks to pack well on it. I’m liking that setup now.

So it arrived 15 minutes ago an was on a tree 10 minutes ago. That thing is rock solid. Very happy with the platform. One downside, the aluminum is a little shinier than I would like on my hunting gear. Some of trees I hunt out of, my feet are 8 ft off the ground. That is definitely within a deer's normal vision. I was thinking about hitting it with a rattle can, but now I want to camo it up with something that will last. I thought about hitting it with an epoxy primer and then a spray on bed liner. Any thoughts?

I would just rattle can it
And then rattle can again when it wears off

Would also like recommendations on how to pack the mission. I really like it on the tree but am not liking it much for packing it in and wearing on the back
If you have Molle on the back of your pack, a few Gear Ties seem to do the trick.
It's quiet and secure.

As much as people love gear ties... and I do to... I find them not so durable... I mean they are a few bucks each and the wire seems to break after about a month or so of use...

Get a bow hook and wear it on your hipbelt, belt, or saddle.

Jim Hole Jr. does the same thing with his stand. He actually has a hook on his stand that slides over his safetybelt rather than a hook, but still the same concept. He also has a hook on his left side for his bow. Pack on back. He gets to tree and climbs right up with everything attached. He doesn't want any scent on the ground. Check out the following video:

At the 1:34 to 1:40 mark, you can see the hook on Jim's stand on the right hand side of the video. No reason something like this or a bow hook wouldn't work with the Mission.
At the 3:28 to 3:34 mark, you can see Jim load his stand and bow onto his belt.
Next in the video it shows Jim climbing a tree with his stand and bow attached and setting up. He isn't using a saddle but the concepts are similar as he hangs his lone wolf hangon.

Only problem with that pad it’s gonna be a sweat factory against your back, even in cold temps
