Trophyline Platform?

A 4 day, dark to dark hunt on an SOA last year. I can do an all day hunt on a ROS, and have done so many times, but it starts to get old after a bit......
That's a point that is overlooked way too often when guys ask or give advice.
How many hours a guy typically hunts is something that needs to be considered regardless of if we are talking about saddle comfort, or foot management.
I'm an "all day hunter". An 11 hour hang is what I normally do. Gotta have the most comfortable rig for that. An ROS is good for a 4 hour hunt, but I don't handle a ROS for all day, day in and day out.

Yep. Conversely, "How far do you walk?"

If I'm jumping on a bike and spending the day riding 9 miles back behind a locked WMA gate and bouncing from ridge to ridge until I find THE oak tree to sit under, I'm not carrying 10lbs of metal on my back. Shoot, I may just wear my turkey vest with the padded back and seat.

Both are extreme examples, but I was in both scenarios last year.

That, and once LWCG made sticks that actually pack well it became obvious that there were advantages to using sticks. Take this weekend's hunt with @denots. 106° index and I was sweating after a 400 yard walk and climbing up on 2 mini sticks. Drilling would have been doable, but sticks/platform were more pleasant.

Don't get me wrong, i still have my treehopper drill and will keep using it. 1lb in a beer can sized package packs way better than anything else available. But mini sticks on a platform big enough to treat like a stand (pack sticks on it and lash a pack to it, keeping the heavy weight close to your body) are a nice thing to have.

Preach to em, Buster!

Oh man...thats sexy. Im all in if thats under 200. Done deal.

Looking at the pic the Mission platform addresses a concern I have with the Predator Platform. Inspect the pivot bolt that attaches the platform to the post. There is more material in thickness and area around the bolt. Additionally if this is not cast aluminum it will not be as likely to crack or break. I hunted off of a Gen 2 Predator last year, but always was concerned with what I consider a flaw in its design. I have a fear someone will over tighten the pivot bolt on the predator and crack the casting and when at hunting height it break. If the nylon bushings on the Predator are not made to the correct tolerance it would also cause the bolt to be over tightened. We already know the Gen 1 Predators will break and had to be re-engineered. I was not taken seriously when I stated someone would get their fingers trapped when moving up their tether until it happened.

I hope I am wrong in my assessment of the Predator platform and we all have a safe hunting season.

It’s cast. It would be well over $200 if machined. I have been using cast stands for many years. Only have had 1 crack on me. I would not be to worried about the casting breaking.

I keep hearing about this mythical Predator XL. What are they waiting for? The first day of hunting season and a 2500 order backlog?
Ah, now I get it! TETHRD, Hunting Beast, Trophyline, Hawk, and Novix all got together and there's a huge rollout on Monday for the same stand!?!
Shoot, I missed the boat. They left me out

There’s a lot that has to happen before releasing a product. It will be here well before most seasons start

At least I’m not seeing a lot of pre-release hype from the Tethrd marketing dept. in my opinion if a product needs to be artificially hyped up before it’s even released, it’s probably junk.

Edit: Open mouth, insert foot.
