Trophyline Tree Saddle Review/Q&A

@Nutterbuster @Jefferson10940 is there any talk of another model coming out in the future? I tried a l/xl and I just couldn't get past the bridge. Contemplated using the lineman's loops to connect a bridge to but didn't want to use the lineman's loops in a way they weren't intended to be used. Ended up selling it and using a Kite. The Kite is a good saddle no doubt, but I really liked that TL.
I mean, you're talking about a new model right now...not sure I understand that question.

The kite is an awesome saddle. Out of curiosity though, what exactly about the bridge was a hang up for ya?

Not right now necessarily, but within a year or so.

What I didn't understand about the bridge is how do you get adjustability out of the bridge? I like to have a real short bridge when I climb, then a longer bridge when I'm all set up.

I was just being funny. You asked if there was any talk of a new saddle coming out, and I said we were talking right now, here on this thread thanks to your post. :) Now it's apparently not coming out now but in a year, which makes me a little sad. ;)

I can put a video up tonight if it helps. To me the trophyline bridge is super adjustable and very, very easy to use. I tighten mine up to use as a waist belt while walking, keep it tight while climbing, and let it out while hanging.

A video would be greatly appreciated! I really liked that TL but couldn't get the bridge to work for me. If it worked I would be snagging one from the classifieds for sure.

What would be awesome would be if there was a way to diy a bridge on the TL. I've really been liking my oplux bridge.

You could cut the webbing bridge off and tie a bridge to the lineman loops. I’ve never done that but I’ve been hearing some guys doing it. You would definitely need to keep the waist belt in that case. I have always loved my TL stock

Video made it clear as crystal fella thanks for that! My only beef with that is a point you made at the end of the video. If you introduce slack into your system then the saddle doesn't stay in place. I use a lone wolf hand climber and have been messing around with SRT for presets. For SRT I think this bridge would work but I have my doubts for the LWHC. Slack gets introduced when using a LWHC so the saddle wouldn't stay put while climbing.

That’s why you have the waist belt. That should stay on the entire hunt. I use suspenders so I don’t need a waist belt.
