Truball release

So I should fill in the story here because it kinda led from one thing to another quickly. So the new release allowed me to add ½" to my draw.

I attempted to rectify this myself, which wouldn't have been difficult if the one bolt hadn't been underneath the cam. I had to pull the bow slightly to get the bolt to where it was accessible. The string started to slip off the cam, but luckily caught on one of the stoppers and didn't come totally off. I got it back on and took it to the bow shop.

They looked at it and made sure it was good, finished the job lengthening my draw. He threw it on the scale and come to find out my draw weight was set at 45# not the 55# my dad thought it was. So I got it cranked up to 58#. Between the draw length and weight it added around 15fps to my arrows and got me into the 250 range. I had to change inserts on my EzV and realign it slightly because of the draw length difference.

I found out I kept shooting slight left because my short ½" d loop was adding torque to the string. Went and got a new 1" d loop added to my string.

now I'm shooting a 5" around piece of paper plate out to 40 with much greater consistency than before. It took a bit to get there though

Ive been having issues with getting comfortable and consistant with my wrist sling release, and been contemplating upgrading my release to a hand held, but i dont have 200 to spend on a nock2it or similar of the top end releases. ive been looking at getting the Tru Ball Max Hunter. does anyone have experience with this release?

In case you aren't familiar, the expensive thumb releases have a hammer type of mechanism (has to be cocked like a revolver) that breaks the main sear, so they can be set almost like a gun trigger with very little travel and the weight of the bow doesn't load the sear controlling the trigger (makes the trigger independent of bow). For a non-target scenario, you probably don't have to worry so much about that. The less expensive thumb releases from reputable manufacturers have a trigger mechanism similar to a wrist strap release, so if you are used to that anyways then you'll probably be good.
