Truck build

That's a really good idea, it would have come in handy on some of my old trucks.

You could also put a pedestal seat from a bass boat on the platform, just to see the confused looks from other motorists.
Later on down the road whenever I figure out the topper I'll have a platform up there to support the weight of a chair and a person....or over the cab. I haven't got that far yet, but an elevated standing platform is on the list of things to do

I saw a lot of rigs like that when I lived in NM. I always thought that they would benefit from some sort of outrigger or something to stabilize the suspension if shooting at longer ranges. Would make a heck of a run-and-gun 500-yard coyote rig.

I've hunted in northern NM a few times, always see some nice truck setups for the ranchers.

Mine won't be built with shooting in mind...I was thinking more of a spot to plop down in a lawn chair and listen for turkeys, see out into a clear cut, or look down a pine row and "glass". Maybe also double as spare tire location?....I only need to carry a unmounted tire do to the beadlock wheels but it's still a big thing to find a place to store out of the way. Or maybe I'll make a swinging gate spare tire holder...I gotta get the 4x4 swap done first before I really concentrate on superficial stuff

My 82 f150 finally

crapped out on me last year after it’s 3rd time being flooded by a hurricane. Let me know when a Subaru can do that
Well everyone's saying they are more reliable so you might have to wait a while for one to crap out, unlike that turd of a truck ya got. Sheesh just 3 measly hurricane floods and this guy thinks the Ford is a good truck or something

Every Subaru I've ever inspected here in our local area is a rust bucket. Toyota alright but I'm about tired of hunting out of a compact truck.

Edit: my price range isn't very much so obviously I'm not looking at newer vehicles. My wife has an 09 and that's the newest thing we've ever had

I like the idea of the bass seat up front. Pull up to the lake shore and fish.

I think that is traditionally the tailgates job....I haven't decided what to do in the back yet...I may leave it stock bumper and just add a couple winch points and call it a day. The tailgate on this truck is insanely heavy and I need to research if a newer model tailgate will swap cause I know the 90s trucks has a lighter tailgate and so did the 70s trucks...what's up with that?

My dude Got me inspired to work on my Yard Art. Just put the hood on it that i found in the old bootlegers hallow, and the factorry ss 1 wheels and byas ply tires from my olds.
