That is way too heavy to carry around. More of a range or blind toy.. If excalibur wanted to sell a pile of bows all they have to do is release a micro vertical Xbow.
I saw this as well. My first thought was. Takes away the need to reload from the saddle. Not for a follow up shot, but if you had two bucks in on a hot doe. Few years ago I shot the 3rd buck in chasing a hot doe. First one was a brute, but he never gave me a shot. 3rd was probably still a 3.5 old 8 point. There were a few smaller ones hanging back that sifted through. But if I could have dropped that first one, and the 3rd. What a day it would have been. But like you guys said. Wow. The weight. Not bad at just under 8lbs. Wonder if that's with the arrows and quiver? Would have to out my hands on it to really get a feel. But at that price, que the MC hammer music. "Can't touch this"
If I had a 2nd shot, sooner or later I would use it. I can think of a couple of times in the past.I don’t get this at all. How many people have to take two shots? I can’t remember the last time I had to finish off an animal. Just wait for a clean ethical shot.

How about over 65? I remember when compound bows were illegal, no pulleys. Is that a good idea, too? They are all just regulations.
If you are young and strong you don't yet realize the decline in strength with age. I would never have criticized a 60 year old for being weaker when I was thirty. It was apparent to me. You will find out someday.Over 65 counts as handicap right?
JK but seriously, most senior citizens wouldn’t have an issue getting the required doctor note.
As far as the increased crossbow tech. My thoughts are the crossbow manufacturers can’t get out of their own way. It seems risky that they continue to blur the lines between firearms and crossbow capabilities.
If state game departments decide to reverse the decision to allow crossbows during archery season it would obviously hurt the crossbow manufacturers. I’d guess they’re betting that isn’t going to happen, maybe they’re right.

I still don't understand this whole debate. Why must we as hunters bicker amongst ourselves? Deer season should be deer season, not separated into archery, black powder, shotgun, rifle, late archery..... If you want to make it harder on yourself, then by all means do it. Unless your making your own bow, arrows, fletchings, string, and arrowheads then I don't see how you aren't using advancements in technology. You might as well be using a throwing stick and stop throwing stones in your glass house.
How many people complain about bait hunters, but the first thing they do is look for a food source to hunt around? As hunters we need to stop bickering and be divided. In the long run it is about killing deer. Make it as hard as you want, but stop putting someone down for doing it their way, as long as it is legal. If you don't like the laws, hunt someplace else.
OK, rant over.
Unless you are hunting with a handmade wooden bow and arrow with only sinew and stone heads made without any modern materials or tools, none of us are hunting traditional, we are all just modern in the true sense of the word. What really matters here is that we are all killers ( or at least wannabes)!
Let's park the bow vs crossbow to the other threads already here for that.
Now that is cool. I loved reading/watching Ashby's stuff about the Papua New Guinea hunters and how that relates to heavy arrow builds. Absolutely fascinating.Until trad guys dress like this and hunt with bows and arrows like this and kill pigs like this you cannot call yourself a traditional hunter.
I traded a hat and tee shirt for that bow and arrow. He figured he got a deal. He makes them for free.
If he had a crossbow. Well he would be the chief
Notice the bamboo broad head .
