Tuck or Untuck

I'm a tucked guy for the water and ticks. Also I figure rubber on the boot sides will leave less of a scent trail on the way in than untucked. As far as up in the tree... summer they stay tucked, winter once I put my heavy layer on its untucked just for ease of putting it on in the stand and my summer weights I walk in with are already tucked. I think you can argue either way, but if you're playing your cards right up to that point, playing the wind, minding movement/noise control etc... dont think there's really a wrong answer. **** ol Fred Bear slayed a ton of deer in jeans and a plaid shirt with a recurve so theres that.

Its just wet here all the time during the hunting season either fall rains or winter snow so if I didn't tuck, the bottom of my pants into my rubber boots I would get soaked or caked with snow/slush. During colder temps with snow, you can get away with not tucking in your heavy bibs because there is no real freeze-thaw going on but once you get in your truck or whatever, if you haven't shaken the snow off, heavy annoying ice/slush forms and freezes to the bottom of your bibs. I usually try to carry my heavy stuff in on my back so I don't get overheated but that's another whole topic that us northern boys have to monkey around with. I've often thought of creating "high water" pants that you could wear on the outside and that didn't drag on the wet/snowy ground but it would likely look ridiculous. I've never had issues tucking in but for heavy bibs I wear them outside my rubber boots and nock the chunks of ice snow off once in awhile. I only really use bibs while on stand though and go light if I still hunt.
