Turkey Broadheads

I'm not a fan of body shots on turkeys - I've killed them that way but also lost some.....My last 3 gobblers have been shot with Magnus Bullheads - 1 with compound(125 grain) and 2 with crossbow(100 grain) - dropped them like a rock. This year I'm back to being able to shoot my trad bows and plan to use Bullheads with my recurve.
Were you able to get them to fly well with your current arrows or did you have to go to a stiffer spine and a longer arrow for clearance? I use the GR Whitetail Special for Gobblers but was thinking of going to the 125gr Bullheads but didn't know how much extra hassle they required to get them to fly well.

I've been practicing for an upcoming 3D shoot and have not tried them yet with the recurve - I will soon and will try to remember to report back how it went.....It wouldn't surprise me to need to go to a stiffer spine but we will see...

I finally got a chance to try the 125 grain Bullheads with my recurve. I used the tube from a roll of paper towels as a target - I figured that was about the size of a turkey neck.

At 10 yards my first shot was a tad to the left - maybe because I usually use a 200 grain head and so my arrow was a little stiffer with the lighter head. But, the rest of my shots were on the money - see pic of damage to target from one shot. Arrow placement was very consistent at 10 yards.

I backed up to 15 yards and got less than acceptable consistency. I prolly could use a less stiff arrow and get a better tune with the bullhead and more consistency at 15 yards but I'm limiting my shots to 10 yards and less anyway so it doesn't matter to me.

Overall I'm very happy with the Bullhead performance from my recurve at 10 yards and will Definitely be using them this season.
