TURKEY TURKEY TURKEY

Really solid plan, lol

I take the breasts, thighs and legs.

I finally got on the board in Virginia this morning. My buddy and I doubled!

Congrats to all the successful hunters! Season opened May 1st. Been out twice and almost made it happen today. Not sure what went wrong but he hung up somewhere between 50-70 yards. Wish I had a deke out but I chose not to today! But I absolutely love hearing a Tom gobble in the woods it’s so much fun!

It's almost over here in Ga , good luck to anyone still after them . It's was my best turkey season ever. Tagged out here at home and got 1 outta state bird way up north.my last bird had this tri color beard and a nice set of hooks. Here's the mount I made out of some of the parts .
That meal at the bottom is what I call
The Pilgrim Casserole . It's smoked and crockpot turkey leg meatIMG_7750.PNGIMG_7751.PNGIMG_7752.PNGIMG_7753.PNG with layers of stuffin and cranberries

If I kill a turkey tomorrow everyone gets $5 off anything HangTime for a week! I know most states are closed or close to ending but in NY things are just heating up! A turkey gonna eat some #5 shot tomorrow!!

I have one more day Saturday. Only been out 2 days in this first ever season but learned a lot first time out. Fingers crossed - I have the birds just need to put the pieces together

Failure is the best teacher, just don't repeat the same mistakes and it will happen for you!

Shoot man, today’s mistakes are tomorrow’s winning ticket, lol. These birds are as unpredictable as anything you’ll hunt so just enjoy it and let the chips fall where they may.

Agree some, but don't repeat my first and worst. When you call to a bird and it literally runs full speed to you, shoot if it has a white head. I was new and looking for red. By the time I realized it was a gobbler that came running to my calls, it was too late and he sailed over the mountain.

I will be ok with a jake for first bird - forecast for Saturday is 90 so after am sit thinking of setting up on a creek. So question for you gurus is that the right strategy and do I set on slope above the creek or down closer to water - I have several creeks with differing terrains - some small intermittent streams with the ridges on either side and bigger perpetual creeks with wider bottoms and ridges are further back from the water
