Last weekend, I was spending time with family, including some folks from Virginia. They live in an established community setting at Smith Mountain Lake and have a deer problem. The community is welcoming archery hunters to reduce the herds. Anybody interested? It's too far for me as it is about a 6 hour drive to get there. My folks even said the hunter(s) is/are welcome to sit on the porch if needed. Let me know if you're seriously interested. Thanks

Six hours? Can I ask where. I would consider if someone wanted to take a trip together.

I’ve watched quite a few videos where people were doing this and it seems like a blast.

Urban hunting is SO FREAKIN FUN....... did I say SO.FREAKIN.FUN.....dude I've shot deer in people's flower beds, gardens, driveways had them run into mail boxes and die, their blood trail across main roads then die in their yards, had 1 die in a dudes canoe 1 in a factory parking lot. Best thing is, first come first serve does only. You wanna have ice water in ya veins when it.comes time to shoot and thats the best medicine for doing it.

I just don't see how that flies honestly. I think of where I live in the suburbs and can't imagine how much people would freak out if a deer died in their front yard.

What's the name of the community? Just trying to scope it out on OnX?

I hunt in VA annually with a Non Resident License. You get 3 doe tags and 2 either sex tags (plus a 3rd either sex if you are east of the blue ridge mountains). Also you can buy a 3 day hunting pass which is cheaper than the whole year license.
