Urban hunting opportunity in Virginia available

I hunt in VA annually with a Non Resident License. You get 3 doe tags and 2 either sex tags (plus a 3rd either sex if you are east of the blue ridge mountains). Also you can buy a 3 day hunting pass which is cheaper than the whole year license.
I live in va. Can only kill 2 a day. Smith mtn is east of me

Thank you all for the great response and level of interest. It looks like we need to get some more details and information on rules and regulations. I will also reach out to my folks to get a more exact scope of expectation on what they would like to achieve and accomplish. Hang tight for me while you might want to do a bit of your own research on what each individual would need, such as licenses (out of state, etc) and meat processing in order to move the meat into your home state. I live in NC and can only bring meat, no bones unless it's tissue free or given to a taxidermist for a mount. The closest town to the location is Moneta, VA. I'll do my best to answer any questions.

Hey I am in Floyd County, VA. Very close to this community my wife and I would love the opportunity to hunt here.

Update....
I'm in contact with the Committee Chair of the community on the deer hunting topic. He's out of town and will return by end of August to SML. He already reached out to his committee and asked for all to think about the task at hand, so they can tackle it by the end of this month (August) when he returns. The initial response seems to be favorable, but that is all I have so far.

I thought I give an update to keep you in the loop and ask those who are interested to stand by until I know more and have something else to report. Y'all have a great rest of the week.

In my VA municipality, you wouldn't be able to hunt from a porch. 8'+ "Stand" required, and you have to be a certain distance from any residence. The VA Urban Hunt program lets each municipality set its own regs, though--just saying, you might want to check before popping off out of a rocking chair.

Other than that, I've really wanted to get onto Urban Hunts here--extends the season from Sept to Mar, and I am plenty happy shooting does.

Another update....

Had a conversation with the President of the HOA. At this point, the idea of letting hunters in the development is received with overall positive response. The committee will make a final decision and get approval from the board, which seems to be a technicality. They have a clear idea on their guidelines of which archery only is the biggest rule. In the past, they tried to limit hunting to three days a week and only between 10am and 3pm. They figured out that that is not working. Now they opened up to all legal hunting hours.

At present, they have 2 homes (lots) where the owners are allowing outside hunters to come and hunt. Those homeowners allow for hunters to sit on porches. He's waiting to hear from other homeowners. In addition, they have a number of "green belt areas" that are owned by the HOA. The committee will be reviewing these to see if any are favorable for hunting.

From their understanding, archery hunting season is opening up on Oct. 5 and he will let me know as soon as he can. Once I have all information and "all clear" from him, I'll let you know so we can talk about a possible multi hunter approach on a weekend or provide who ever is interested with the contact information. The homeowners ask to be notified when hunters are coming and all communication goes through me and the HOA President. They will also provide little signs "Hunter on property" for hunters to put by the road when they set up on a particular property.

This is a great opportunity to show to the public that hunters can be polite, respectful and conduct ethical hunting methods.

Thanks y'all and good luck!
