at do you use nylon for?
 
Higher Tg and the layer adhesion is great. I have a couple non critical parts under the hood of my Mustang printed with it. It is common for it to have carbon fiber or fiberglass strands mixed it which helps with surface finish.
 
I'll post some up once I get it assembled! Got all the prototyping done, and the final "hard" parts printed. Still need to print the TPU portions and then do the heat inserts.

I printed a pair of laptop stands in TPU this weekend. The TPU I intentionally left out of a bag, no dryer, etc for more than a year. It may not be up to 88s QA standards but it’s in the “good enough” category for me.

I wanted to share for any of yall starting out and worried about filament, like TPU, absorbing water, making it hard to print etc.

Bumping this thread, haven't been around in awhile. Busy business.

Came into 3d printing in a bizarre manner. About 3 months ago my wife said kids birthday stuff was coming and to intercept it, so UPS truck pulls up, has something to sign, ok sounds good. Unload this gigantic box that says its a 3d printer. I had no idea what she ordered, was't expecting that but not too far out of left field so I signed it and took it in the garage.

Later we catch up, turns out she didn't order it. Sure enough shows up on my CC that day. At first I thought it was the kids, but they're too young and we still have full control of their devices and I checked the history and they did not. So it was some kind of fraud, a weird one, a porch pirate attempt I guess? Weird because that has a local flavor.

But anyway zoom to today and the investigation is resolved and I now have a 3d printer I don't know what to do with. Seems like a good STEM themed educational opportunity for my kids to piddle with so we are going to see. I am not a big tinkerer but going to see if there are anything useful I can make.

What printer did you get out of curiosity? Definitely it's a good learning opportunity, but with a little bit of basic CAD skill a guy can make some pretty useful stuff.
