Using a TX5 saddle

I have zero experience in this area, but just purchased an EWO ultimate stick and TX5 Reaper.

I also have 40' of Sterling C-IV and a Madrock

Do I use the bridge (that comes with the Reaper) as a tether? Or should I have a separate tether?

I was hoping to just use the Sterling C-IV for ascending and rappelling down.

The bridge is a separate component from the tether. Tether connects to the tree (in your case the 40' of C-IV) and then the madrock connects that to the bridge using a carabiner. You will be ascending and rappelling using the C-IV tether connected to the bridge.

Got it. The Sterling is the tether. I was having a brain fart. Thanks

So the Madrock connects directly to the tether. The bridge runs through the Madrock carabiner ? Do you happen to have a pic?

thanks

Video below for the basics of using a Madrock. Recommend you spend some time searching youtube for other videos for how to use the gear. A lot of good instructional videos. The gear you have is arguably a bit advanced, so recommend you spend lots of time practicing at lower heights and with a buddy before you start going to full hunting height. Get to know your gear quite well before going to the field with it.

Thanks a lot my friend. This helps a lot

I actually use the Madrock and Sterling with my climber now. I do it in case my climber fails at 20'. I back it up with an autoblock. I'm using a Killdeer harness

The "bridge" is a new concept for me however
