That’s pretty much how we set up too... quick comfy and lite
This weekend was the first time in colder weather...I don't know if it got freezing but if the ohio guys are cold it probably chilly ..I was fine with a heavy canvas/flannel sleeping bag as an "underquilt", cheapo mummy, and silk bag liner....woke up hot and had to unzip..

I switched to a hammock this year and can’t understand why I didn’t do it sooner.

It’s nice to be able to pack your whole camp set us in a back pack... We’ve been hammock camping for a while now and I can’t go back to a tent.... it’s nice waking up and not having to break down tents and air mattresses

Yea I didn’t notice much of a temperature difference between the hammock and a tent, especially if you keep your tarp down low to slow wind and trap heat. The underquitl plus a light sleeping bag and I’ve been cozy in temps to the upper 20’s

I was hesitant for a while also.... But dano made it easy with the bug bet and rain fly all available in a "kit". The mosquito have always kept me in a tent/bivy..
I keep hearing people refer to dano, I feel like I should know this person.

I seen that’s he made it all available in a kit just the other day and almost bought the kit myself. Let tax refund come in DanO may be getting all of my refund.

I agree with the comments about picking the right tool for the job.

A camper or trailer would be amazing for most of my hunts. But they add complexity to the trip.

A camper shell or tent is a lot easier (and cheaper) but you sacrifice comfort and space.

What's a boy to do?

Just finished the Hunt/SurfRunner 2.0. If its bad weather or too cramped for too long, its a hotel room for a day!F4FE9962-6081-4F73-BB47-2497CFDE44A5.jpeg

6” thick trifold memory foam mattress for back of truck camping.

dan durston Xmid 1p for backpack camping.

my goal with camp is fast setup and tear down. Truck or backcountry.

I’ve been wanting to do a 4dr/4x4/flatbed with a setup like this. Drop four jacks and you’re campin’...

To be honest that is what I like best about the camper. Everything stays right inside. I'm on the road 15 minutes after leaving work for a long weekend. When it comes time to head home all I have to do is raise the corner jacks, roll up the awning, lock the doors, hook up and go. It's really that simple.

It doesn't afford the quite access of my old popup or a truck camper like you've shown but for here in Michigan I don't have any trouble getting back off the blacktop and down a two track quite a ways.
