What bow is everyone shooting this year?

Xpedition Xcentric Pro 7
What a great bow. I shoot the 6 and it’s a screaming fast, super quiet motor scooter. I believe if Xpedition released the same bow against all the other flagship bows for 2022, it would win bow of the year again

Agree! A buddy bought a VXR this year and when we met at the range I thought maybe I’d shoot it and get the itch to buy a new bow. Not the case, after shooting a few groups with it, was happy to get back launching arrows with my Xped.

Mathews traverse 29'' 69lbs. 450grain spartan with a 125grain whitetail extreme head, 4 fletch 3 degree zinger and a nockturnal lighted nock.

Mathews vxr 31.5 beman arrows, qad exodus and rage trypans head's. Might try the g5 dead meat as well..

I have. Pass through was good, trauma was amazing, blade hit a rib and bent a little.
I shot a few deer with them, and I did not get the same penetration that I get with their older style 3 blades. I wish I could find some of their old 3 blade heads with the cut on contact point. I bought every replacement blade pack I could find when they were discontinued.

Vertix 62# 30" draw and 30" Easton 6.5's with std alum. insert with 20 grains screwed in the back and 200 gr cutthroat. I really like the flexibility of the switchweight modules. Buying my first bow in Dec. 2018 (not new to hunting) I had now idea what draw weight I wanted or what my draw length was so it made sense to me that the Vertix which had just come out would allow me to easily change dw and dl. The dealer set me up with 60 lb modules set at 55#, 28.5" DL and an index release. I shot it a lot at first and started having shoulder issues on both sides (I'm 51) so I backed off the dw to 50 which made a big difference. Over the next 9 months I built up my shooting muscles so I was pulling 62# pretty comfortably by September. After the season I wanted to switched to a thumb release. I went back to the dealer to get my draw length adjusted for the thumb release. This time I had a better feeling for what was comfortable and with the thumb release my draw length was now 30". I think the 28.5" was a little short even for the index release. When I made this change I moved up to a 70# mod because at this point I wanted to shoot at 65#. Shooting 65# was great until this July when I joined the ranks of the saddle hunters and bought a saddle. After practicing with the saddle I backed off the dw to 62# to make it a little easier to draw in the saddle at what feel like odd angles for me now. For someone that is a more experienced archer and knows what they want this flexibility is probably not as advantageous however I really appreciate it.

92 PSE Carrol Intruder, 45# Samick Sage, and don’t laugh anymore than you did about the old Carrol, but a Barnett 400 Crossbow that my wife bought for me that I didn’t know anything about. Actually like the crossbow, but can’t make the switch full time. Carrol because it performs. Goal is to kill one with each and then go back to old faithful.

@Nosaj Going from 28.5” draw to 30” draw is a huge change! I might question this as the release couldn’t change your draw length by 1.5”. You might want to get a second opinion on the correct draw length for you!
