What did you do today?

Finished up my little platform project after seeing the thread @Nutterbuster posted up a while back about the treesuit. I had enough scrap pieces lying around to make it, but the legs are a little long and I need to cut them down some. But wow is that thing solid against the tree!

Nice work. I have some pieces of aluminum for a platform and will try some welding in the near future.

I gotta say, that is one of the best camo jobs that I've ever seen.
Nice job!

I wish I could TIG aluminum. It'd save a lot of weight, and the welds usually look a bit nicer. I'm overall happy with it, but have a few things I want to try.

Thanks! Unfortunately I didn't get it as clean as I should have, or the under layer didn't stick, so the paint didn't hold up too well. I'm going to strip and re-do it eventually. But the pattern seems to do well on multiple trees around here. The paint on my Predator came out even better, IMO.

I'm sure that 160" buck will avoid your tree because your paint job wasn't clean. Seriously, that paint is sweet.

I have an Eastwood TIG welder and have tried it on aluminum. It seemed to work OK. I hope I have some argon left. I have a piece of aluminum bolted to a Primal step which is my current platform but I would like something lighter made of all aluminum.

I had copied the hobie scupper hole cart. It was good on pavement but not worth a hoot on loose gravel.

Made my own design sitting on 32" tubes. Works outstanding and stays on with just a cam buckle placed randomly around tubes. Happy days!Screenshot_20200702-200335_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20200702-200405_Gallery.jpg

Got ezv on the new bow and shooting the back up bear....waiting on a whisker buiscuit so I can tune up the parker then get the bear set up for my wife who has shown interest in archery....20200703_112552.jpg

I got 2.....must like it I guess. Helped me tremendously with my confidence. First time shooting it no peep today and just as accurate as the bow with a peep. I need a nose reference point and I be set....
This will be season 3 with the ezv for me
