Last bonfire of the 2021 camping season. The rain held off and the wife and I are sitting here enjoying a peaceful boondocking camping night.

Just got done pulling about 75 porky quills from one of the dogs mouth. Let them out one last time before bed and he found a porky. I hate those things. I will get vengeance before the year is done. They can't hide so well once the leaves drop.
Mine too. I had one that bit one twice. Once wasnt enough, he had to go back for seconds. Luckily this wasn't that bad, lips, tongue and roof of the mouth. The dog took me holding his mouth open and yanking quills better than any other I've dealt with before.I hate porkys, and dogs are stupid. It seems like after a dog gets quilled once, it will attack any porky it can find with a vengeance and lose every time. At least that's been my experience with Labs.
Awesome! I am guessing you've been out to CO before? I was out in 2017 with a buddy who lives out in Redstone. I was out for 4 days in 3rd rifle. It was a lot of hard work but well worth it hence my avatar pic. Good luck and enjoy! Be sure to let us know the story when you returnGot my food packed up for my upcoming elk hunt. Daily intake will be about 2200-2300 calories. Got the weight to just under 12 pounds for a weeks worth of food. I leave Friday to get acclimated to elevation and will be visiting with a friend in Denver. Hunt starts next Tuesday for 7 days.

First time elk hunting. OTC archery tag. I was supposed to go last year but my buddy had to have surgery so I am going this year. I think my legs are in shape but I just worry about the altitude and oxygen levels. I've read it take a few days to get acclimated. My hunt is next Tuesday but I'm getting there Friday night to get some hikes in. I'll definitely post when I get backAwesome! I am guessing you've been out to CO before? I am not a heavy arrow guy but did you weigh both your field points and broadheads to see if they weight the exact same? Maybe you already did this. Just wondering why it would be low? Guessing you are shooting 'heavier' arrow set up.Final sight-in with the broadheads along with a final sharpening of said broadheads. My L/R is dead-on at 20, 30 and 40 yards and hit about 1" lower than my field points at 20 yards, 2" lower at 40 yards.
I love and hate the anticipation this time of year.
I'm assuming it is the increased drag factor of the broadheads.I am not a heavy arrow guy but did you weigh both your field points and broadheads to see if they weight the exact same? Maybe you already did this. Just wondering why it would be low? Guessing you are shooting 'heavier' arrow set up.
