What did you do today?

1 of the high ups at the company I work for asked if I wanted a grill.....sure, says I .... Ok, I'll bring it but it's kinda broken. I got the grill and 2 heating elements. I took the heating elements to the electrical department and they verified which element was still good....so then I start poking around and notice 2 ground wires not connected. Install good heater element and fix ground wires...go on internet and download owners manual.....proud new owner of an 800 dollars pellet grill/smoker for free... :) if u can't be handsome it helps to be handy..

Yard bird on the new to me grill tonight...

Stropped my broadheads out nice and mirror finish and they're cuttin' hair off my arm. Then I wiped the shaft part of the arrow down with rubbing alcohol to get any buffing compound off the arrow shaft and I put a thin coating of mineral oil on the broadhead. If I see something, they should zip through pretty nice. 527 grain TAW, 21.7% foc, VPA 150 broadheads, 100gr. ethics inserts on el cheapo GT Hunter XT .340 spine shafts cut to 28" CtoC. Zinger Z3 6 degree right helical fletches. Standard GT nocks. Same setup as last year. Here's my arm after testing the first one I sharpened. Arm's got alot less hair now after touching up the other 5 arrows. VPA 150.jpg

Nice! I'm using the exact same broadheads on Beman 300 shafts at 565 taw on a 30" shaft with 3 3" feathers. Just over 20% foc. Those VPA's sharpen up nicely.

Set bolts for saddle set up on north edge of beanfield, and placed the Millennium tripod about 15' in the woods bordering the west edge; trimmed shooting lanes in the process. Have both prevailing winds covered now.

Spent the day at our house in Al, watched a doe and her yearling spike eat in the back yard for a hour. I was sitting on our upstairs balcony I could have shot them 1000 times. Hope his dad comes by here in a month or so.

Been more successful killing woodpeckers than deer so far this year.

Dang downy woodpeckers come in every fall and start drilling holes in the house to make a winter nest. I got tired of shooting holes in the siding with a BB gun so started sticking mousetraps over the holes they're drilling. They fly in, mousetrap kills the woodpecker and the weight pulls the mousetrap off the siding. Simply replace the mousetrap and wait for the next one.

Redneck engineering at its finest.
