What did you do today?

Some may find this hard to believe but I changed everything around again.

The pack I was using worked well when on the ground and walking but once up in the tree was bulky and blocked some of my views. I also realized that I didn't use several of the items in the pack. By cutting out what I didn't actually use, I was able to condense everything down to a sling bag, most of which is used to carry my rope.

It's lighter, smaller and much more manageable.

Pupdate.

Concrete board underlayment. One step closer to the bathroom remodel being done. Why did I start this during season again? At least I think I'll finish before rut sets in... Hopefully?

HD run to get the bathroom one more step closer to completed. got thetub/surround/toilet/vanity purchased and brought home, of course there's no dang (wife approved) tile in stock (plenty of non-approved options though lol!) so i've got to wait a week for that to be delivered. At least i'll be able to get the tub installed and new closet framed in while i wait. I may be able to spin this into a hunting day next weekend if I get everything else wrapped up and am waiting for tile... at least that's a silver lining!

Sounds like you need to pay someone at HD to not notify you about your tile for awhile

5# teriyaki and 5# cheddar teriyaki in the oven. Never quite understood the "If you like sausage, don't watch them make it" saying. I find it fascinating to know that the odds-n-ends scraps can be turned into something tasty.

Cheddar sticks turned out perfect. Regular sticks should be done shortly. Only took 8+ hours in the oven.

Got to full draw on a deer for the first time, released an arrow at a deer for the first time. Missed a deer for the first time.

At least it was a clean miss. The adrenaline was insane, how do yall aim with Elvis leg?

Try to hold off Elvis leg until after the shot, but man that’s where it’s at & why we bowhunt

Breathing techniques. Control your breathing only focus on breathing, steady inhales and exhales. These techniques work in all sorts of situations from excitement, anger, fear, stress. It sounds cliche or silly but its been studied and taught to all sorts of professionals. Glad you got to draw on a deer and sounds like you found a good little spot. Every hunt is an experience. Keep at it spuds.

I scared the daylights out of a guy, popped into a spot closer to town after work tonight, I was barely set up and I see a red shirt walking towards me. I sit and wait to see what he does, he walks 15ft from me and looks at a tree. I say "Hello there" he drops his pole saw and stand on the ground.

He says "I didn't even see you" " yeah man, that's the point. You know you arent allowed to cut branches on public land right?"

We have a few minute conversation and he grabs his stuff and leaves. I missed a golden opportunity to start growling and snarling at him.

No idea how he didnt see my bright orange bridge or daisy chains on the tree
