What did you do today?

Got my truck back, seems ok! The problem they had to fix the second time was a "rusted pipe plug" and they used thread saver glue of some kind to fix it. Didn't have any heat issues on the drive back. Gonna give it a once over when I have a minute to spare. But for now, I'm hunting.

Edit: and there was no additional charge.

The ol rusted pipe plug gets ya everytime....

Freeze plug maybe?

Finished up plumbing and hanging drywall last night, moving on to tile after work today. Should have worn a better mask, I inhaled too much drywall dust yesterday.

Not too bad....10"modern lodge and antique unbranded 7" for $10
They'll take a lard bake over the weekendView attachment 56755

I forgot, I hate you southerners for your rust free trucks AND your cheap antique cast iron. The farther north you go the harder to find and more expensive cast iron gets.

Do you have any issues with the lard becoming rancid? I've tried several seed oils and finally settled on grapeseed oil for seasoning. I'd prefer to use lard but, I've read several places that it can become rancid over time.

I haven't had any issues.....I've tried other stuff too and never really noticed any difference except coconut oil definitely added a different taste. I'm not a skillet expert and always open to hear peeps with more experience

And for the record....the trucks in my area are worse for rust than northern trucks.

I’ve sat at work today wondering what generation did common sense stop being normal. I have a crew of millennials that think they know everything but don’t even understand the simplest of directions. Makes me worried for the future of this country even more so than before.

I had lunch with beautiful wife on this fine Veterans Day and then I came home and completely redesigned the Latitude Gear Strap to work more efficiently and so that I don’t have to waist time spinning the whole strap around the tree and readjusting the loops on the strap. Then my wife came home…walked downstairs with our four month old daughter and caught me hanging out in my new Method 2 saddle when I noticed the wife was soaking wet and said, “Thanks for helping me get her and all my work stuff out of the car and into the house”

And now I’m in trouble…

I certainly feels like late fall/early winter outside so made some pumpkin bread and have chili in the crock pot for dinner. Winter makes for the best food.

Shiplap going up in the FROG (Finished Room Over Garage) today. Finally found someone to spray foam it last week without taking an arm and leg…

HA! Yeah spray foam is expensive but so worth it. We did out addition and its the most comfortable area in the whole house. You should really enjoy it

My wife and I entered into a contract to buy a lot today, half acre near downtown but in a really wooded and nice spot. Still have to get a survey and determine if it is suitable for a septic tank. If it all works out we want to build a house in a couple years. Offered 6,500 bucks for it and they took it, so after closing costs we should still be under 10k.

Twenty more days before I'm off a few days. Then maybe try for another deer.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
Enjoy your family time and praise the Lord!
