It's not bad at all. Safe too. I think I just passed out or something up in the tree for a minute. Suspect it's the heat. Feeling way better now. Drank a little water.

It's hot as hell

Dibs on your squirrel steps
You'll have to find them and me. ;)

Feeling way better now. Didn't mean to test the "impossible to fall out of, even if you lose consciousness thing" but yall are welcome.

Those of you who are out scouting and hunting, drink your water and pay attention to what your body is trying to tell you.

Glad you're feeling better, next time leave the squirrel suit at home when its this hot out!:)

So I've got a 2 hour sit and a 3 hour sit in it. I want to get a few more sits under my belt before I make the video. Should be able to do that since Sunday opens up hog season in my big backyard. Here are my thoughts so far.

First, the "ass floss" thing is 100% a non issue. That "bikini strap" in no way, shape, or form puts pressure on you unless you want it to. That strap is how the leg loops are connected to the top waist belt, since they can't be connected "normally" to the bottom strap and allow the saddle to function properly. If you disconnect the leg loops, there's no pressure. If you loosen them like most folks do at height, there's no pressure. If you cinch them tight enough that you feel it digging into your backside, you're gonna feel the straps digging into your groin before you notice anything else.

Second, it's surprisingly comfortable. I'm not going to say it's more comfortable than the size 2 kite I just got, but I also have 2 years of experience in aerohunter products, and only 5 hours in a tactisaddle. I want to call John at some point and pick his brain as to how he wears his.

You have a LOT of options when it comes to adjustment. More so than the anderson, I think. You can independently position the top strap and bottom "rump" strap to wherever you want them, and you can also tighten up the bottom strap up with aerohunter style adjusters. Lots of stuff to play around with.

It wears and walks-in very well. Weighs significantly less than my kite. Somewhat surprisingly, it is very easy to put on. I thought having a mess of straps would be a problem, but so far it kinda works itself out once you grab the waist buckle. I wore it in on about a half mile walk this weekend, and it was unnoticeable even in the 90 degree heat. I also packed and unpacked it in my Badlands pack, and that wasn't bad either.

The linemans loops are pretty far forward, which I like. They're a little small, but they're stiff and I had no problems using them.

First impressions are that it's perfectly fine for shorter sits. I think I could do an all day sit, but as of now it's not my first choice. John has said multiple times that he sits all day, and I'm interested to discuss that more.

I think it would really shine in two scenarios. One, if you're hunting out of a treestand and using a RCH, this would be a neat upgrade. I know some guys have done the "hybrid" thing where you can choose to sit in a loc-on or use it with a saddle as a foot platform. This would pair PERFECTLY with the windwalker. Second, if you were elk hunting or, in my case, hog hunting on foot, this would be the perfect saddle to cram in a pack with a set of bolts "just in case" you wanted to set up on something.

I do think it might be better for folks with a platform than dedicated ROS users. Being able to take a little more weight off of your rear might be nice on a longer sit. I kinda identify as a sitter, so I'm not really an expert there though.

Overall, my thoughts so far are that it's a valid option for some folks. The build quality seems good, the price is good, and the turnaround time is currently the best on the market. Currently, I do not think it is as comfortable as Aerohunter's products, but that may change. I'll definitely be playing with it more.

Cool to see that “you can’t/shouldn’t judge a book by its cover” applies to this saddle

Definitely looks uncomfortable so nice surprise to find out otherwise

Thanks for the fair, informative review & comparisons

Look forward to hearing more from you about as you get more time with it & are able to discuss with the builder

Stay hydrated !

I think it's an interesting design, and about as minimalist of a saddle as you can get.

I spent another hour on it last night while catching up with @kyler1945 on the hellophone. This time I tried a platform with it (treesuit design). I think it works a bit better with a platform than it does with a ROS. You can put the rump strap under you, and place the waist belt in the small of your back. I'm not usually a back band guy, but it worked well for me. Lower the tether around chin/chest high, and just lean back. It's more comfortable than the sit drag I bought last month, which i know a lot of guys sit in.

John was nice enough to schedule some time with me this evening. I intend to pick his brain some on tether height, platform choice, whether he leans/or sits, and a few other things. I also intend to tell him he needs strap keepers on the leg straps something fierce! That's about the only design suggestion I have so far.

Great to see so many choices out there now. What a difference only a year and a half ago. Now you need to do a report on the new saddle that Wild Edge is putting out with Aero Hunter. (I can’t think of the name right now)
The problem everyone is having is the shipping times on currently available models take longer than it takes for new saddles to be introduced. (In some cases)

I just finished recording a podcast (Bowhunting Soul) with John Tucker and he said he’s right at 2 weeks wait time. Podcast will probably be out by Monday.

I haven't seen any updates in a bit...you get anymore time in the Tactisaddle yet, Nutterbuster?
I have. I planned on doing a video last week, but have been coughing too much to do a video. Bad sinuses. I should have it up this weekend.

Basically, it's fine. The concerns about wedgies and butt-floss are funny, but totally unfounded. I personally have not found it as comfortable as my kestrel or kite, but I have several 3ish hour sits in mine and it's surprisingly comfortable. I think if I was a platform guy I'd probably be inclined to make it my main squeeze. The adjustable button strap is a really cool idea, and between that and the aerohunter style adjusters you can really monkey around with the fit a lot.

It's definitely lightweight, and nice to wear and walk in with in the heat.

Good to hear...mine should be at the door in a day or two.

All day. No just kidding 4 hrs would be good. If you not uncomfortable in 4 hours than you probably won't be in 6 either.
I've had several sits that were pretty close to that. My takeaway is that if you're leaning on a platform, it's as comfortable as anything I've ever tried. A 6 hour sit on a ROS would not be something I'd look forward to, but it could be done.

John Tucker says he used to routinely sit all day in his from screw in steps, and I believe him. Talking to him, he says he's been very impressed with the platforms that have come out. It is my understanding that he prefers them to a ROS for all day sits. I personally prefer a ROS instead of a platform, and would not want to sit all day in the tactisaddle from one.

I think the perfect application for the tactisaddle, for me, is a hunt where I'm walking a lot and sitting a little. The tactisaddle wears and packs extremely well. It would also be perfect used in combination with a lightweight stand like a windwalker. You could use it as a safety harness when seated on the stand, and as a saddle if you wanted some additional maneuverability.
