I have a prototype that’s very similar in style and comfort but weight is dramatically lower and minus all the straps and such. Also could be sold for probably $100 or more CHEAPER!

I voted too expensive. And, that's not a knock on this particular one. I believe every saddle currently retail sold is too expensive for what they are. I'll stick to my sitdrag until the prices are in line with the materials they're made from. I won't hold my breath though.
Unfortunately this will never happen. The FOMO factor will always have people spending whatever it takes to say “I’ve got one. I’ve tried one. I have the newest.”

Materials? You forgot all the other stuff you have to pay for. Probably a 10-20% margin off the top. Labor and production costs, insurance, admin, customer support, marketing, etc. That's just how it works.

I just got a Treehopper Recon and it's made really well for the price. It may not be for everyone because it doesn't have some of the fancier features of more popular saddles. The leg straps are basically disposable but are functional if you want them. Can't bring myself to spend $200-300 for the saddle alone. I'll probably pick up a Treehopper platform sooner or later. It's also reasonably priced compared to everything else out there.

Still overpriced with the costs.

Yep. That one's more in line with reality. My son has that one.

Had it and sold it?

Won’t try it because X?

Sits in the garage because…

Hopefully my options cover it, if not let me know and I’ll try and add them. Either way - I always blow rainbows everywhere about the hybrid. I’d like to see some good quality complaints and arguments against using it. If it seems compelling, I may offer a video detailing how to overcome those issues, avoid them, or admit defeat.

so here we go, tell me why the hybrid sucks.
Dislike the leg straps

Can't vote as I'm using Tapatalk.

My one gun season using one left me feeling like I had to be very picky with tree selection. Thin to improve rotating around tree, and more importantly, super plumb so that I didn't pendulum away from tree. I am much less picky with soft saddles.

I also felt like the bridge and straps were excessively confining and disruptive in ways soft saddle bridges and straps don't bother me. Maybe this is a sitting (JX3) vs leaning (soft saddles) thing.

I didn't like how the easiest storage/carrying of other gear was in the back which meant accessibility was limited to pre/post climb.

I didn't like how my non-inline stacking sticks did not pack well with it. The beast sticks look like they pair great with it, but I was committed to my DIY sticks.

I didn't like how standing up to take a break on pressure points required getting back into shoulder straps and whatnot. A soft saddle I can just quickly and smoothly go from leaning to sitting and back without a lot of fanfare. Might just be limited experience on that one.

All that said I've come close to buying one a second time, both in the classifieds and new.

I almost always grab the JX3. Why?
No Knees on the tree and I like to sit.
Even with knee pads my knees cannot handle it

I use no pack with it. It carry’s my one stick.

What do I hate. I have to take it off to unpack it because my bad shoulder won’t let me reach the leg buckles.
I think I can maneuver around a tree as well as any saddle.

I should have never played hockey. If I hadn’t I would use my TX5 or Cruzr XC more often

Mine (a gen 1) doesn't just hang in the garage, it sits in the basement. It's too wide when carrying in, does not work well with a pack, and mostley, has too much going on with all the ropes and straps. I would sell it , but shipping is too expensive. One of the worst purchased I have made.

I bought the 1st gen jx3 a few years ago and always regretted selling it.I take 2 weeks off of work every year for the rut and hunt hard and do multiple all day sits.I’ve hunted from a saddle from the early days with the original trophyline and owned every saddle practically out there today. I’m not a expert in saddle hunting but I will say the jx3 hands down is the most comfortable ,So much so last week while hanging I decided to order the gen 3 and really put the time and effort in to make it work for me .At 56 years old comfort is top priority moving forward.I still plan using traditional saddle but gonna use jx3 just as much .just my 2 cents

Had 2 and sold both (Gen 1 and Gen 2) Only thing I disliked was it seemed a little tough to get a good bowshot for me as the straps would get right up in my side. I think I liked the Gen 1 better but couldnt really say. I tried a Drey this year twice and I think that fits the ticket good for me and is way lighter and easier to carry

For the folks saying too bulky to carry in. Is the issue the width of the seat?
That was the reason I sold my original Gen 1. Tall, narrow dude, wide seat sticking beyond my shoulder width like I was carrying sticks sideways...
