What time did you kill him?

I'm in SW Michigan, and most of my luck that time of year has come on morning hunts, between 9:30-11. On a rifle opener, it's more like 15 minutes after legal shooting hours, lol.

That's funny. Seems spot on for me in southern Michigan.

It’s been about 90% evening kills for me. Ranging from 2:00 to last light with the majority of the deer after 4:30. I’ve shot the majority of these bucks somewhere between October 21-November 10th. My top 3 bucks were September 9th at last lift, November 10th at 5:00, and November 3rd at 4:15.

All my buddies joke with me that I can’t kill a good buck in the morning, and they are not far off. Lol. I hunt just as much in the morning, but evenings are awesome for me.

I have had numerous encounters with more mature deer during mid day in northern Missouri than any other time; so much so that I don't get out the truck at any farm I'm hunting until I can see good in the morning and I'm also back at the truck before it gets dark in the afternoon.

Now in Mississippi if I cant get in the tree 1.5 hrs before daylight I'm wasting my time and afternoon hunts I have to hunt until the last possible second.

with that being said I have two separate approaches for two different states and both seem to be working pretty well

I’m about 50/50 on mornings and evenings.

There's a few holes from forgetting to update file and then doing it later after the fact so not sure of exact time and even sometimes the date but it's decently accurate.
