What to upgrade first?

How is the scout for hawks (or other sticks if that’s what you have) with sturdiness and stability on the tree? The thing I don’t like about the primal/plywood platform I have now is that there is a fair amount of side to side rocking back and forth when I shift my weight or swing out to one side and I would think that a stick mounted platform would be likely to have similar issues.

Also on a small and downward angled platform like the scout, how easy is it to relieve weight on your tether and adjust your saddle or tether height?

I’ve got it on a shikar and if you set your stick properly I’ve never had it move putting side pressure al all.

Someone else might have to chime in if they have it on the hawks. DanO also has it in the straight version if you are a sitter more.

I set the arch of my foot on top piece in the picture to adjust tether etc. It’s a lot easier to do this on the stick installed scout rather than the solo. Mainly because of being further from the tree.

Seems like platform is getting the unanimous vote. I’d throw in upgrading your ropes (if you haven’t already). I was using super bulky cheapo ropes and carabiners last year. I upgraded to all oplux and Beal jammy this year. Feels like I have taken 10 pounds off my set up weight! Worth every penny.

Saddle. Platform don't work for everyone.

Is there a good equivalent to the oplux that would work with a ropeman 1? If I recall correctly the oplux is 8mm which is too small for the ropeman 1.

You may be able to do all three. :)

Check out my video on the YouTubes and pick yourself up a OOAL Solo Scout. Give it a week and you'll be able to efficiently climb with it. Turns out... the Solo doubles as a platform (who knew?). Then sell your brand new Heliums and apply the funds when a deal on a saddle pops up.
Link? Or youtube username please

If you sit all day a lot I would do the platform first. If not I would do the saddle first. Best bang for your buck comfort wise.
