WHATS YOUR 2019/2020 HUNTING GOALS??

1st Saddle harvest.
1ST deer for three daughters and wife.
Nail down a procedure that's quiet, efficient and effective.
Harvest 1st mature buck. 4+
Harvest multiple does.

  • Stay safe
  • Put into practice all the saddle stuff I've learned in off season
  • Fill freezer, been out of venison for a while
  • Get a new hunter out for the first time to hunt anything
  • Provide some points to my SH team
  • I'll have fun regardless, anytime spent outdoors is a blessing.

1.) fill the freezer... love having a freezer full of venison
2.) kill my first Michigan Deer
3.) first deer on public land
4.) first deer from a saddle
5.) my long shot goal is to shoot a mature 10pt buck. I’ve killed many 8’s and passed many many 8’s but I’ve never even had a real opportunity to shoot a 10.

Safety first.

Be more mobile and not so worried about spooking a few deer. Going to go and check some canoe routes next weekend, scout entry points and use my walk in to hunt to check for sign on way to topo/satellite destinations.

As much as I'd love to get a saddle kill, wouldn't mind one from the ground.

1. Mature Buck on AR Public
2. Successful out-of-state buck (MO, TN, LA, or TX) - all up in air still
3. Get a bow kill on film

Put in more time before/during/after major weather events.

Stay safe.

Don’t put too much pressure on myself. I’m OCD with bow hunting and have done too much of it while not having fun.

8 total deer for the freezer with 2 of those being mature bucks (we can only have 2 in Tennessee). We are trying for a subsistence lifestyle and I’ve calculated 8 deer would feed all of us for the year without having to buy any beef at all. Rest would be wild caught fish and wild turkeys.

Lots of great goals listed above! For me I would concur with them all, but my main goal is kill the twin to last years 10 pt. He evaded me after his brothers death!

Easy for me, will be my first year with trad (long bow) and first year with Saddle.
Any whitetail with that combo (even a fat doe for the freezer) will make my season.
Hmmm, and, maybe, pistol and saddle combo in firearm season, dare to dream.

1. Find time in the schedule to hunt
2. Shoot a couple does
3. Shoot a 3.5yr old buck

Edit: 4. Shoot a couple 80ish pound pigs for the freezer.

Spend quality time outside.
Count my blessings.
Meditate on the beauty of nature.
Humanly kill the 1st doe that walks by.
Hold out for mature buck until December.
Book a trip to waterfowl hunt with buddy.
Book a archery hunt with brother-in-law.
Stay safe.

First year saddle hunting. I have a goal of topping the buck I killed last year which was a 130” WV Public land deer. I only have 4 days to do it. I have no cameras etc I’m relying on the scouting I did last winter.

1. Stay safe
2. Kill first black bear
3. First deer from saddle
4. Finding mature buck bed, hunt buck traveling to or from bed, kill buck.
